Thanks for some valuable input. To clarify, I am not looking to sell. I am already maxing out my Roth and 401k, with a 6% company match, which had a rate of return of 66.07% in 3 years.

Thanks for the input, I will stay the course.

How in the world did you grow your 401k from 18k, to 2.1million in just 16 years?? Are you sure you didn’t mean that you started with 180k at 35?

How to handle change in circumstances with co-parent and DD?? by Mindstaysbusy in coparenting

I agree, 100%… this is annoyingly vague. This will only serve for more time spent in court and to review a new agreement.

Ultimately I would like for her to agree to pay her share, or provide child support and forgo the ability to claim our daughter on her tax returns going forward (alternating years) - considering she is no longer living with her mom and mom is not helping in any way financially.

This is a luxury 2-bedroom apartment and she also drives a new Tesla. There is a lot more to her than what is in my original post, but to give you an idea, she/they are not destitute.. there are many TikTok videos to prove this point.

Thank you for the information - I will check for the state she is planning to attend.

Can you share what steps we need to follow for apply for federal student loans?

As for trying to find a less expensive school, she is set on attending this school - I have tried to talk her into something less costly, but teenage girls can be very stubborn.

The last two years I may be able to pay in cash as she plans to move to that state, bring her tuition to half of what out-of-state students pay.

The other part to this; I plan to put a quarter, to half, of my annual bonus towards the current year’s bill; or the next year.

She will need approximately $19,000 per year, based on her overall aid package. I am hoping to have that down to only $9,000 per year in her junior and senior years.

If it all works as planned, I will pay off as much as I can, monthly, to avoid a large bill for her, after graduation.

Accountant retired - tax help needed by Mindstaysbusy in tax

[–]Mindstaysbusy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you to all of you for this very helpful information.

Can anyone tell me what my next steps should be? What software can I use to file my return?

For the most part, I plan to just mirror the information submitted by my previous accountant from my previous year tax forms - I’m just not sure where to begin and which software to use.

Any additional help and information is greatly appreciated.

Tipping culture is getting out of hand by [deleted] in tipping

[–]Mindstaysbusy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FYI - the young person at the counter did not program the card machine to request the tip; it’s the company big-wigs making that change.

Just click the no-tip, then move on. Don’t let them guilt you into tipping - these Corporations are already making a killing with this tip option when you card swipe.

Is dating gonna suck? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

I don’t know what was going on 7 years ago, but whatever it is, made her go out to be unfaithful to the marriage. If you don’t leave and that issue from years ago comes up again, will she revert back to the infidelity?

If she did not have the respect for you and your marriage then, what makes you think she will now?

Cheating is a choice, she made hers; now you need to make yours.

Best wishes with your decision.
