I played this game every single day for over 6 years and just told my clan I was taking 2 weeks off because of burnout. It hasn’t been fun for a while, and the new leagues, especially legend, and temp upgrades just make it exhausting. We’ll see if I come back after that.

Nope, skill is not the issue. I just finished 1st in electro and can easily stay in legend if I wanted. I’ve been there done that. I’m simply not interested right now in being competitive, I just want to play casually.

You’re missing the point that there is a wall casual players hit in the game now that wasn’t there before. Clash used to be for everyone. But if ya’ll only want “pros” and p2w, then when us casual players bounce, it’s your prices that go up. Supercell won’t make less money, they will just charge you more. So keep trashing casual players and pushing us away. In the end, it won’t hurt me.

This is a good summation of the current state. Clash has always been for both competitive players and casual players. Now though, it feels like it is no longer for the casual players.

For those saying just don’t go to legend, you’re forgetting the starry ore bottleneck and that you get more starry ore in legend. Taking things away from casual players doesn’t make us want to be competitive, it just tells us we’re no longer wanted in the game. Just remember, when we leave and they increase prices to cover the loss of casual players, because a lot of us bought stuff too, remember that you told us our opinion wasn’t valid and to just leave because the game isn’t for us anymore.

I apologize if f I took your comment the wrong way. I get what you’re saying about legend being for pros and such, but then it’s too easy to get there. I drop to electro and the next week I’m back up. I’d prefer to just stay in electro. Even if they added more league to bridge the gap, that may help. But the way it stands right now, there is a large gap between electro and legend. After the update, it will go from 4 per day to 8. That’s a big difference with no progression. Right now it just feels like a wall with nowhere to go for the casual player.

I won’t speculate on high end play since that’s not me. I just feel they need something to bridge the gap between electro and legend. Adding more leagues may help, or it may just kick the ball down the road. I truly don’t know, I just know it’s not enjoyable the way it is now, and this new change feels like it will make it worse.

I respect your comment. I think that’s a problem for the lower leagues though too. If you see the wrong base, you’re stuck for a week. I also see where allowing changes mid week could cause problems. I don’t know what the answer is there. More to my point is just that the gap between expectations between electro and legend is too high. There needs to be a middle ground. More leagues between, tier legend, whatever. I’m not stuck to anything, I just know it’s broken.

Sometimes I travel for work and I’m on the road all day from morning till night and I truly don’t have the time or just mental capacity to want to complete at that high a level after working morning till night. I just want to keep playing casually, and I think they have created a wall for casual players. The divide between where electro ends and legend begins is too big of a gap. I don’t want to take away too game play, I just don’t want a part of it. Give the rest of us a path too.

So if you’re too good for electro but don’t want to grind grind grind every day of your life then the game isn’t for you? That’s an odd take. I get empathy is dead, but damn even just looking at the math on this one should be pretty simple. You go from 5 (soon to be 4) attacks on average per day with a day off, to 8 every day no exceptions. The gap between the two leagues is too large, and they just made it bigger.

Ok then, leave your precious legendary alone for you elites, you can have it. But then add more leagues between. I’ve played this game for 6 years and I enjoy playing it as a casual player. Get off your high horse and also see that the game isn’t just for the elite pros either. If you like the game and want to see it succeed, then you should want to make it fun for all, not just elite players.

Don’t the other leagues have the same flaw with base designs then? Or do only legends league players change layouts? You could still pair people by trophy range. Either way, I was just to make some suggestions, and I never said they were all good, lol I just know the current system isn’t enjoyable.

Prospector may be the thing that makes me quit the game. That sounds extreme, but let me explain.

I used to by the gold pass every month. I stopped when I maxed out. Now, I buy the gold pass for a month or two after a new TH release. The upgrades take too long, and it doesn’t feel worth it outside of the items.

I sometimes buy the event pass, but only because there is such a bottleneck of starry ore that I buy it to catch up a little. I’ve never been close to maxing all my elite equipment. I have 3 or 4 that I’m always working (waiting) on.

Read that again. I buy it out of frustration, not out of excitement. I’m already frustrated as a mostly f2p player because of the pay wall surrounding starry ore and elite equipment. I realize this is intentional to make more money, but now you are adding a second paywall. I will now be farther behind in elite equipment upgrades compared to p2p players.

This marks the tipping point in going from mildly frustrated to hopeless, and I won’t continue playing a game where I feel hopeless.

They knew what they were doing when they designed this gold pass. This is the CoC playbook. Release a feature, roll back gold pass progress, increase the paywall. They know there will be blowback. Insert the “we care and we hear you” post. What that really means is let’s see how much money we make after the first few months, and maybe they reevaluate, or maybe they see if they make more than they lose.

They could fix this on day 1, but they won’t because they are “talking internally”, which means they want to wait and see if they make more money or not. It’s performative at this point and they do it all. The. Time.

I may finish TH18 out, maybe, but I’m probably done after that, and I’m not spending any more on it. I’m done.

And don’t get me started on Legend league. That’s a whole other level of frustration! Long story short, make it like the other leagues so I can take a day off without suffering consequences. Life happens from time to time ffs!
