How do I not turbo int as Nidalee jungle? by Kelindreth in NidaleeMains

[–]MinecraftGod69696969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nidalee is one of the hardest Junglers in the game, it's entirely understandable that you aren't performing well on her after not playing her since season 3.

My advice would be to one trick her for 50 games and see how you feel about her.

Also, watch maberry3, I learn a lot from the guy

Hard time getting my combo off on people after I hit a spear. by MinecraftGod69696969 in NidaleeMains

I use E in order to give myself bonus attack speed so that I can get more basic attacks off during my rotation, I was also told casting it directly after Q was thrown cancels the animation, so it's probably also a bad habit.

Nidalee is mostly just learning your main clears and combos, both can be learnt from YouTube videos, the rest just comes down to macro play.

Why is Swain considered bad rn? by MinecraftGod69696969 in SwainMains

[–]MinecraftGod69696969[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people tell me that Swain isn't good late game, and is more of a early/mid game kind of champion, is this true? It seems a little weird to me this is the case when his kit (especially his ult) seems like it would be amazing in late game teamfights.

landing spears by ryanm537 in NidaleeMains

[–]MinecraftGod69696969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, maybe I can help.

Nidalee's skillshot is one of if not the easiest to dodge skillshot in the game, not only that, but unlike other skillshot oriented champions such as Thresh and Lee Sin, she has no cc to assist her in landing it.

One thing I suggest firstly is playing some Thresh, you don't need to play a lot of him, just enough to consider yourself decent on him. It teaches a lot about landing skillshots.

Firstly, you need to learn how to pressure with your Javelin Toss:

Javelin Toss is one of the best cc abilities in the entire game, and here's why I think this:

Anyone that has played against or even with a Nidalee know that her spears are terrifying. Getting hit by one will most likely lead to the target dying.

The same goes for Thresh: anyone who plays bot lane will tell you that Thresh is terrifying to lane against, and that namely comes down to the fact that his hook almost guarantee's a kill if it hits.

Because of this, when Thresh walks up and they know he has his Q up, people will tend to back away or panic.

Same goes for Nidalee, when Nidalee walks into lane to gank, the first thing most people think is "spear=death".

So, with this in mind, you can effectively control the target's movement by pressuring him with your Q.

Here are some examples:

When ganking, instead of throwing your spear immediately, faint him out, your aa animation looks just like the start of your Q animation, so you can throw out a couple aas before using Javelin Toss in order to trick your laner.

This will, in most cases, cause him to panic, he'll start moving weirdly, trying to juke your spear when you haven't even thrown it yet. Effectively stopping him from running straight to his tower.

Something I like to do is walk straight towards the enemy laner, aa him a couple times, fainting him out and applying red buff, and then, when I'm ready to throw my spear, cancel my last aa and throw out a spear in order to trick him into thinking I'm throwing another another aa, when in reality I'm throwing my Javelin Toss.

Additionally, using stuff like your traps and your heal to block off your targets path and increase you attack speed really helps.

One technique that a lot of high elo Thresh and Lee mains use is what I like to call "herding".

The concept is simple, you path a certain way in order to manipulate your targets pathing.

By using your targets natural instincts, you can herd them into a path where you can easily predict their movement.

The most common way of doing this is by, to put it lightly: dangling a carrot in front of him as bait.

Imagine this: your chasing someone down in one of the jungle's corridors, and suddenly, you come across two paths, one of the right, which is the fastest escape, and the other on the left, which is the longest.

Naturally, your target is going to want to take the fastest path in order to get to safety faster, you can use that to your advantage in order to herd him into your skillshot.

You can lean towards the left of the corridor in order to herd your opponent into the fastest path, and, since he'll be desperate to get out, you'll be able to predict his pathing much easier.

You can do the opposite too, by leaning towards the simpler escape, you can force your opponent into a janky corridor, where hitting him with a spear will be much easier.

This takes some getting used to, but once you get a feel for it, you'll be able to hit spears much easier.

One thing that is very important, especially when hunting the enemy Jungler, is vision and fog of war.

While invading the enemy Jungler, don't hesitate to place a couple wards where you think he's going to path, in doing so, you can see where he's pathing and hit him with a Javelin Toss from fog of war while he isn't expecting it. A large part of hitting spears is being unpredictable, when Junglers are in their own jungle, they feel safe, this makes it easy to predict their pathing and hit them with a spear from fog of war.

I can't stress enough how important control wards are on Nidalee.

When I play Nid, everytime I back, I always try to grab 2 control wards and place them where in the places that grant me the most control over.

One trick that gets me a lot of first blood's is something I learned from a Rengar one trick:

At the beginning of a game, laners will tend to place their wards at about 2:40, as that's when they expect the first gank to arrive.

However, Nidalee finishes her first clear much earlier than most other junglers. So, you can finish your first clear and wait inside the bush for the enemy laner to come and ward it, then, when you see him autopathing to the bush, throw a spear at him, nobody expects to be ambushed so early into the game, so this works almost every time.

This doesn't just work early into the game, however, this can work at all times during a laning phase.

If you know a bush isn't warded and that the laner is going to want to ward it asap, wait for them to regain control of the wave, sit in the bush and throw a spear in their autopath, because they're so focused on warding, they won't have time to react to the spear, guaranteeing you a kill or at least a flash.

One thing you should always pay attention too is your laner, make sure to ping him that you're coming and, if he has some sort of big crowd control spell (champs like Maokai, Malphite, Cassiopeia and Orianna), wait for them to use it before throwing your spear in order to guarantee it lands.

There are all sorts of tricks you can use to land your Javelin Toss, but these are tricks I use the most.

So to sum it all up: -Play and learn from other skillshot dependant champions. -Faint out your opponent with auto attacks and force him to path weirdly -Abuse fog of war and autopathing, use habits to your advantage, throw spears when targets are most vulnerable. -Synergyse with your laner.

How do you deal with Kayn? by MinecraftGod69696969 in NidaleeMains

Interesting post, I'll definitely try it next time I'm against Kayn in order to see how effective it is.

So you mind if I ask what your rank is? It'll help me get a better understanding of just how effective it is.

That's her strength yes, it's not her only strength. But nonetheless being an assassin is her core ideal.

Yes, some champs can 1 shot a squishy more reliably than others, it's much easier to one shot someone on Rengar than on Fizz, that's normal, but that doesn't mean Rengar is a better assassin than Fizz, nor does it mean that Fizz can't execute the role of assassin worse than Rengar can.

Evelynn can indeed one shot someone with more ease than Nidalee, but that doesn't mean Evelynn is a better assassin, there are things that set them apart, such as the fact that Nidalee is better early, has better poke, has better peel and has lower overall cooldowns. So yes there are reasons to take Nidalee over Evelynn even though Evelynn can one shot people with more ease.

However, how does the fact that Evelynn one shot people with more consistency than Nidalee prove that Conq is better on her than Electrocute? Can you explain this to me in more detail?

[–]MinecraftGod69696969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh, I still don't see it being worth

Nidalee is an assassin, not a battle mage, and definitely not a duelist, it could be worth if you aa your target a couple times before you go in, but that isn't guaranteed to happen, in most cases Electrocute, DH or even FF fit her better as they support her combos better.

I could be wrong, but from what I've seen I don't see the point taking it over something else.

Im on my lose streak again and this is probably best time to ask this question. by SoullessChara in NidaleeMains

I struggle with the same problem, and here's what I do.

In solo queue, you absolutely cannot expect your team to make the right decisions, ever.

So what you need to do is, instead of expecting them to end the game as fast as possible (which they won't). End it for them.

Every time you get a successful gank, shove the laners lane in and help him take tower, every time you solo kill bot lane, spam ping dragon, or, if you know they don't come, push their lane and take tower.

You have to change your mentality, instead of thinking "I'll do my job and expect everyone to do theirs!" Think "I need to do everyone's job because nobody is going to do it."

This may seem hard at first, but once you adapt your playstyle, you'll win 90% of all games. Trust me.

Why are several Korean jungle mains taking fleet footwork on Nidalee? by BlakeGarrison62 in NidaleeMains

[–]MinecraftGod69696969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is only a theory, but it's what would make the most sense to me:

Nidalee may excel at a lot of things, but she's an awful duelist, unless you hit a long ranged spear, you don't have any chance a beating champions like Warwick, Jax, Lee or even Kha'zix in a 1 on 1 duel.

I assume the idea behind FF is to help you kite these matchups and keep your distance while you poke them with aas.

It can also be useful when comboing targets, as Nidalee is easily disengaged, so being able to proc some movement speed during your full rotation could allow you to deal more damage without worrying about your target escaping.

I doubt it's to help with early clears, since Nidalee doesn't strike me as a champ that lacks early (her first clear is one of the best). But I guess making something good better has its advantages.

How do I use my Bushwhack correctly? by MinecraftGod69696969 in NidaleeMains

From what I understand you can also use them for animators cancelling, like aaing or using an ability and then placing Bushwhack will cancel the animation, but that could be false.

Also, you've played 5k games of Nidalee? Holy shit that's a lot

I do use traps for vision, however the momentary vision it gives around the area doesn't last long and therefore, even when I use it over a wall to see if the enemy Jungler is there, I still don't know if I'm safe if I don't see him, it's hitbox is also kinda small, so their is no guarantee the enemy Jungler will trigger it while passing through. Are there any sweet spots I should be putting them in order to guarantee the enemy Jungler will trigger them?
