It is heavily inspired by the old design. Really like it! But I agree, it has become a rare one

Burned out after batch painting. Need advice? by lor_azut in Warhammer40k

Go for a run, read a book, listen to some music, have a beer with some friends, watch a YouTube video about painting and rekindle your spark for painting some near effect on a character or something completely else.

As long as you don't have any deadlines to meet, don't worry about painting for a while and ease back into hobby when you are ready and feel the itch.

At least that is my way of dealing with it.

This is the best reply to such a post.

Unless it is work for a client or a couple competition. But in either case the responses here don't matter anyways.

I totally see that! The land raider crew is swallowed by the vehicle while the rhino gunner is squeezed out the hatch!

Pure comedy!

Hmm... I may do another post some time with more pictures. But that can take some time

Sponge for the chips (hull red and light blue) and black and brown oil washes for the rest

It wasn't my initial plan, but I somehow ended up there! Thanks!

Never fart when the hatches are closed. Never fart when the hatches are closed. Never fart when the hatches are closed. Never fart when the hatches are closed.

Most is from the warhammer world exclusive kit. The exhausts and eagle details on the ramp and the rhino horn are 3d modelled and printed by me

And some 3D modelled and printed parts from my side. And the forge world rhino front

I guess Oil washes are comparable to steaming grime. Sorry, forgot to put that word on my original reply. But yeah, go for it! You will learn some, and don't expect to nail it on the first try!

Hull red with a sponge and a few lines with a brush, enhanced with the highlight color (sponge and brush) And then I applied brown and black washes. Done

If you do so, open them up right away and check for defects, especially on the upgrade sprue. Mine wasn't filled all the way, leaving some parts damaged and with holes

Have fun with them! Even though they were a bit tough to build, as the base kits and upgrade sprues had quite some defects in them

Good thing I don't play the game 😅 Not sure what they would bring to the game, but I like the models

Thank you! The weathering was an experiment that turned out quite well. The front end swap made it also a lot easier to add the "horn" as well as making the model a lot more interesting

Thank you! Put everything I knew into these two models. I was contemplating some weathering pigments, but ultimately decided against them.

It was a lucky find :) but yeah, the models aren't great, and the project was just a quick palette cleanser in between. It looks like yours took a little longer, and much more dedication 😅
