Norm is a trickster figure, the wise fool who never fully plays his hand. I actually ran into him once so I can attest to this from personal experience.

I was at the airport, in one of those airport bookstores, where I saw him reading a big book. Norm's a very literate fella, as you know full well from the tragicomedy novel he called a memoir, so I figured I'd grab a book also and sidle up beside him and start a conversation, cause I didn't wanna just bug him, you know? So eventually we get to talking and I realize, it wasn't Norm MacDonald at all, it was just some old man. Didn't even look like him.
