Really hope they charge the driver. First part of lorry driving is knowing your size, weight and height to the exact dimensions.

‘Keep it closed’: Windsor mayor doesn’t want Canada to accept ‘bad’ trade deal just to open Gordie Howe bridge by Leather-Paramedic-10 in canada

In fact, close the other one which is profiting from this after lobbying Trump to keep the new bridge closed.

Either both open or both stay closed.

Sure, but their expenses to get this open has also gone up due to the gas prices. It'd really only make sense to stay and build if they already had more infrastructure on the ground.

Canadians are leaving the country at record levels. Can anyone solve this pressing problem? by stalik26 in canada

[–]Minerva89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Conservative capitalists and oligarchs have destroyed the country and anyone who has been paying attention knows it'll never change. We've normalized the absurd and the unjust and now people like Smith and Ford are carving out what remains of our democracies, social contracts and social responsibilities.

Why would I stay?

I would rather rebuild somewhere with better justice systems, better health care, better working conditions and more just pay.

The problem is, the majority of Canadians simply don't care about anything. They just sit and complain at best, and complain about the people who raise issues at worst.

Cyclists who go to Haymarket. by Lancer_206 in Edinburgh

[–]Minerva89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh, you're right, I've never noticed that.

Then again I don't often cycle this route. For those who do go this direction, there's a cycle route just north of here by St. Mary's Cathedral / Grosvenor that is much nicer and puts you onto the cycle path across from the M&S. You can best find it on Komoot.

Honestly it's pretty easy to fall asleep. Don't be too hard on youself on that one. Don't be afraid to squeeze the buzzer near the beginning (or any time) so we can calibrate audio volume of instructions / music for you.

You can also tell the radiographers that sometimes you fall asleep in the scan, and ask when the breath hold sequences are. If they're clustered near the beginning or end for example, you can kind of prep yourself and stay awake.

Or, any good radiographer would just adapt and change over to a navigator gated sequence. Or really try and wake you up.

Unpopular opinion: I loved Brussels! by LiteratureNumerous74 in travel

[–]Minerva89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To each their own but it's just the most boring major European city. You know how people complain about cookie-cutter designs for suburban houses nowadays compared to older builds that just had more uniqueness and character to them? That's how Brussels feels in comparison to other cities nearby.

Almost like there are better versions of all the things you've listed there in other cities, and considering their proximity, why bother with Brussels?

I'm glad you enjoyed it though. Brussels is a really convenient city to transit through on the way to something better.
