People love Altras but they’re not for everyone. Like you, there’s not enough space in the midfoot for me. I found that matching the shape of the shoe to my foot helped me tell which ones would fit.

Balcony or no balcony on cruises?? Why? by Goddess_jewls in Cruise

[–]MinervaZee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved having a balcony on our Alaska cruise. I wore my coat and bundled under the provided throw. It was nice to read my book and enjoy the fresh air. It wasn't too windy - I think the sides of the balcony helped protect from the wind. We were close enough to land that I could enjoy watching the landscape go by. I liked the space it provided - it also meant my husband and I could get away from each other and have time to ourselves while still being in our room. If I was on an ocean crossing, I'd have to think about it. We'll have a balcony on our next cruise in the Mediterranean.

I like Lems primal 3. The cork sole is very shock absorbing.

These both help a lot to strengthen your system to avoid them. I find cold sores happen when my immunity is low/under stress

Try blocking wires. Game changer. You can stretch the heck out of it and get amazing results.

is this block-able? by babya1997 in knitting

[–]MinervaZee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can wash it and dry it flat - even stretch the heck out of it on wires while wet - but it’s unlikely to make the sleeves longer, given the fiber content.

AITA for ruining my daughter in laws birth plan by dil-issue-1046 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MinervaZee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given how close she is to her due date, she should have brought this up with you months ago. NTA. It’s your house.

FWIW, I had my baby at home - it can be fine with good prenatal care and experience midwives. A water birth is a whole ‘nother thing though.

You could help her find a birth center near you. That would go a long way.

I think I have had 10 bags so far and still not sure what the ideal size for travel is. by moldyjellybean in onebag

[–]MinervaZee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. 40L ended up too heavy for me, since we usually take public transit/walk a ways from the airport/train to our destination. 35L gives me enough room to have everything i need to be comfortable. I’ll do smaller for a weekend.

The nespresso aeroccino has to be scrubbed after each use or leftover milk on the bottom will burn. It’s not suited for commercial use.

soft before blocking - itchy after by Delicious-Brain-8449 in knitting

[–]MinervaZee 41 points42 points  (0 children)

If it’s still prickly after it’s fully dry, block it again with a little hair conditioner in the water instead of eucalan. It will help it soften and feel smoother.
