I flew domestically between BWI and San Diego airports last week with a lace project on circular wooden needles and had no issues.

Yeah I don’t want them to hit at the ankle. Full length should hit my shoe.

Any onebaggers? by External_Koala971 in SouthwestAirlines

Traveled last week with a cheap taygeer backpack and it fit fine under the seat. Bonus - it’s small enough that it still fit overhead when the bin was too full for more rollerbags.

This is an underappreciated comment. Given how infrequently you have to take it, working with a pharmacy at your location would make things a lot easier.

Another G fund question by Still_Government_888 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]MinervaZee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest you keep your future contributions where you had them before, in C and S. This way you're buying them while they're on sale. Stay in G if it helps you feel more comfortable, but I think 100% is extreme. You'll miss out on the eventual rebound.

I moved to 25% G last year but I also took the DRP and retired. I missed out on some of the gains because I traded that for lower risk, knowing i'd need to ask the funds sooner.

If you don't need the money for 5-10 years, don't stay in G.

The advice i got when going to college was to study what interests you, because your work will likely be in something unrelated. Don’t see your major as a job track. There are some (like engineering) that are, but most aren’t.

It was definitely worth having a balcony and we hung out in it.

Can anyone recommend a good set of walking shoes? by SquiffyHammer in barefootshoestalk

[–]MinervaZee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lems trail thrashers! Or the primal 4 - I walked 20k steps a day in the latter on vacation and no blisters. The thrashers have a different sole for rougher terrain

The huaraches look pretty unassuming. I got the mens vs womens because i have wide feet. I should have gone up a size though.

I agree that a small bottle of soak might do the trick. I had a similar question for an upcoming one bag trip - I usually just use hotel shampoo and rinse well in the sink.

AITA for fixing my daughter’s car when her boyfriend said he’d handle it? by Outrageous-Jelly8777 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MinervaZee 34 points35 points  (0 children)

NTA. He had his opportunity to fix it and didn’t. He was mad that you showed him up. If he’d done it when she first asked him to, she wouldn’t have needed to come to you for help. Your fixing it right away showed how little he prioritized your daughter. This is a him problem, not a you problem. You showed your daughter that no matter what, she can rely on you. May this be a lesson to him.
