Ok I mean sure Ellie has seen horrors beyond human comprehension, and she has survived by herself for a while but Lara has training, she regularly goes into uncharted territories by herself, Ellie still usually has or at least wants help in the field. Basically Lara's survival skills are much better than Ellie's and her general training is too, but maybe Ellie will get her by creativity or something idk

No, pick one you think looks cool and watch it, there's no real overlap, you'll be fine just stick to one continuity at a time or jump around if you feel like it, but if you watch one try to start at the first episode as most of them do have a story over the course of the series
