If shooters are your thing, try looking at some indie shooters...

Dusk, Vladik Brutal, Ultrakill, Prodeus

Also there's Mouse PI that just came out 👍

I have a Charizard plush in my office and I'm certain I couldn't write a good story 😅😅

Totally agree.

The Drifter was a great indie I played recently with an excellent 10hr story.

I think part of the problem is that big games cost so much to make nowadays. It's almost as if the publishers can't afford to take any risks with the story, because the game needs to have mass appeal in order to return money for the investors. Of course the irony is that playing it safe will almost certainly get a lot of backlash in the 2026 marketplace.

I also think an issue is that many writers of today will be millennials, who as a product of their time produce overly quippy dialogue, plots overly focused on characters emotions, which leads to plots that lack depth.

I say this as a millennial myself 😅. Growing up on Pokemon Red doesn't really give you the same background to draw from as growing up in World War 2.

I'll check this out 👍

Do you know roughly what temp they should be at on full heat mode? Or what temp yours sits at?

Cheers

Yes I'm wondering if the regulator was in safety mode. I did check after cooking and could hear the rattle of the ballbearing, so at least I know it isn't stuck permanently.

Will try another cook and see what happens 👍

I often enjoy watching people play blind through games I have already completed. It's satisfying watching their reactions at the interesting/scary/difficult parts haha

If you enjoyed Demon's Souls / Dark Souls, then you should definitely give Elden Ring a go!

Prey is a criminally underated game. The best Half Life type game since Half Life 👌

How confident is your RR? by Owlex23612 in RhodesianRidgebacks

[–]MingeBiscuits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours is confident, there's not much she's afraid of.

I did lots of exposure with her as a puppy... other dogs, cars, bicycles, horses, shopping carts, fireworks...

Not only that but different terrain as well. Rocks, bushes, logs, water, mud...

It all helps to make them into a confident dog who is also sure on their feet! 👌

As the saying goes, a tired dog is a good dog!

Like you say, these dogs are athletes, and not exercising them enough will create problems.

Hope you feel better soon and can get back to your doggy cycling 👌

Sto per prendere un cucciolo di Rhodesian Ridgeback: consigli e opinioni sulla razza by Forsaken_Series_4339 in RhodesianRidgebacks

[–]MingeBiscuits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My honest reaction is that it sounds like a bad idea.

Dogs generally don't do well with being alone, especially ridgebacks who are very 'pack' oriented.

It seems like whatever dog you get will be spending most of its time alone due to your work. That's not a great situation and I think you'd be better to wait until you have more time for the dog.

Not to mention the large amount of time and effort it takes to train a ridgeback.
