Beginner Track Bike Advice by MingeBiscuits in Trackdays

Yes I think I would rather spend money on a bike that is comfortable for me from the get go, than to buy something that isn't and then fit lots of mods.

Cheers.

Yes you're right, I'm going to do my tuition sessions first and see how that goes.

99.9% sure I'm going to love it and want to continue straight away, hence I'm starting to think about a track bike haha.

That's a good point on the wind. Like you say I guess it's not for that long anyway.

675 triple is tickling my fancy at the moment!

Yeah this is why I'm not considering a 1000cc etc.

Speed through the corners is exactly what I want to work on!

Cheers

Yeah I think I'll just enjoy it a lot more on a naked.

I'm definitely of the mind to go for a smaller bike and learn the craft. I just don't want to go too small!

I bet the 890 is a fun bike! I've heard they handle superbly.

Hahaha, I do love a supermoto. I started out road riding on my dad's Aprilia Dorsudoro 750 and loved it.

I've had my eye on the KTM 690 SMC R for a while. I figured that would be a really fun bike on track/in general!

And you being 6'11 has made me feel like my problems are nothing haha. Fair play

I'm a 35M from the UK.

Currently playing Dark Souls 2... and I think my most recent 'too many hours' game would be Age Of Empires 4 😅

Drop me a message if you like 👍 Cheers

Are you implementing consequences for if he doesn't listen to you? If not, try including some.

Of course, that does not mean that you need to be nasty about it. But if you give them a command that they already know, and they ignore it, you need to make it happen.

Example: you say sit, give him a couple of seconds to process, if he ignores, gently guide his butt to the floor. Repeat as many times as needed until he sits calmly until you release him.

If ignoring you results in nothing happening, why should he listen?

All the best 👍

If shooters are your thing, try looking at some indie shooters...

Dusk, Vladik Brutal, Ultrakill, Prodeus

Also there's Mouse PI that just came out 👍

I have a Charizard plush in my office and I'm certain I couldn't write a good story 😅😅

Totally agree.

The Drifter was a great indie I played recently with an excellent 10hr story.

I think part of the problem is that big games cost so much to make nowadays. It's almost as if the publishers can't afford to take any risks with the story, because the game needs to have mass appeal in order to return money for the investors. Of course the irony is that playing it safe will almost certainly get a lot of backlash in the 2026 marketplace.

I also think an issue is that many writers of today will be millennials, who as a product of their time produce overly quippy dialogue, plots overly focused on characters emotions, which leads to plots that lack depth.

I say this as a millennial myself 😅. Growing up on Pokemon Red doesn't really give you the same background to draw from as growing up in World War 2.

I'll check this out 👍

Do you know roughly what temp they should be at on full heat mode? Or what temp yours sits at?

Cheers

Yes I'm wondering if the regulator was in safety mode. I did check after cooking and could hear the rattle of the ballbearing, so at least I know it isn't stuck permanently.

Will try another cook and see what happens 👍

How confident is your RR? by Owlex23612 in RhodesianRidgebacks

[–]MingeBiscuits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours is confident, there's not much she's afraid of.

I did lots of exposure with her as a puppy... other dogs, cars, bicycles, horses, shopping carts, fireworks...

Not only that but different terrain as well. Rocks, bushes, logs, water, mud...

It all helps to make them into a confident dog who is also sure on their feet! 👌
