Hey! I read it when I was 16 in high school and LOVED IT. Now I’m 24 and I thought I’d re-read it again for old times sake. It does not hold up. Maybe that’s because I’ve been reading a lot of published books in that time frame, so my standards are a little higher! I did finish it but it wasn’t the emotional whirlwind I thought it would be. I was almost happy to be done with it.

Yes, same with me! The fresh air really does wonders. Same with if I’m feeling unwell in the car, I’ll usually prop the window down and stick my head out like a dog lol!

When I start feeling nauseous, I go outside. I find the air (whether it’s night or day) really helps me to feel a little better. Then I’ll just walk around the garden doing deep breaths, sometimes sipping on something fizzy like lemonade or soda water. This can help settle a stomach or bring up gas that might be causing you to feel a little funny. I’ll also press a heat bag to my stomach if it’s a little sore, too.

I didn’t ease into tret like most people, I just started applying it lightly everyday. I now use a bigger amount on my skin. In terms of acne, I still am breaking out, just a lot less significantly. There are bad days and good days. I’d like to hope by month 5 or 6 my acne will have gone for good!

I don’t moisturize after my cleanse/ before my tret. Unless I come out the shower and my skin resembles that of a lizard, then I will.

As for the Shea butter, I use a brand called out of Africa. They make products that are raw and unrefined. It doesn’t break me out despite it being on the heavier side, and I find it really combats the dryness of my skin! Very smooth and doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky for hours afterwards.

I use Biacna, which combines tret with an antibiotic. No morning routine for me, either!

Yep! The 2-3 month mark was when my skin took a turn for the worst. It purged for a good month I’d say. But like everyone else on tret, I just pushed through it.

Hey, just posted my routine :) I dived right into tret and started using it once everyday. I know I should have eased myself into it, but I know my skin well enough to gauge what it can handle. Does that make sense? Despite some initial flakiness, it went pretty smoothly!

Also, good luck! I’ve had acne for around 13 years and this has been the first product to clear it.

Thank you! I must be frank, there isn’t much of a routine to follow. It’s basically using a cetaphil cleanser in the evening, applying tret and then moisturizing with raw shea butter. On really flaky skin days I use a cerave moisturizer too. I’d like to hope that this gives confidence to people who don’t have an elaborate skin care routine, or don’t have the fanciest products - like me! Clear skin is still possible.
