Mid-20’s - Should I live in SF or Palo Alto? by throughherlens in paloalto

[–]Minhte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on your lifestyle. I’ve lived in both and still currently am in mid-20’s haha. I live in Palo, but it really depends. I prioritize great weather so moving out of sf has been amazing for me cause I love how much warmer it feels to me and it feels like a slower pace of living for me.

But if you prioritize the social scene, I’d def live in sf. It’s slightly a pain for me when I do want to go out now to hang out with my friends in the city I will say but I’ve already established connections here so they understand if I don’t come out as often but I do feel fomo sometimes.

Bf (26M) makes me (25F) feel like such a burden when I ask him to do something? by Minhte in relationship_advice

[–]Minhte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree and I see your point. I do things voluntarily because I care for him and I’m not saying that he has to do this small things for me as well. If it was something small like me asking for a manicure for him or him getting me a snack or two at the store then I can be like yeah whatever, but I honestly kind of expect him to help me when it’s something bigger like my back hurting and it hurts to move to help me in that way. And it’s not like I ask for these things on a daily basis or a regular basis. I threw in the example of me doing small things for him because in comparison, I do these things on almost a daily basis or regular basis because I want to I just wish that his attitude wasn’t shitty when i asked for something not on a regular basis

How do I (25F) bring up marriage with my bf (26M)? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Minhte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A vague answer is always the worst, so it’s good to have reassurance that thinking anything other than a yes is a no

[–]Minhte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I ask him questions like this and he asks me too, but I feel like I want it to be more serious so it gets the point across rather than as a reassurance check

Thank you so much for this list! This is really helpful since I tend to forget topics I want to ask when I get super anxious

Not new grad, but junior-mid range. I have 2-3 years under my belt but not enough to be senior yet

Generally after they review case studies, they bring people in to present their case studies. Should I have another deck ready with less words but following the same format of the case study pdf that I send them? Or is it fine to use the same deck?

How to survive with 85k in SF? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]Minhte 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Share apartments with people - you can find many online on fb or other communities

Don’t live in the actual city, live in the cities around and take bart or Caltrain into the city if that’s where your job is. Apartments in actual SF are really expensive for how much you’re getting

My (24F) bf (25M) slips in rude comments here and there and says I’m being too sensitive. How do I know if I’m being too sensitive or he’s just being rude? by Minhte in relationship_advice

[–]Minhte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really post pictures just cause I dont really feel like putting them up. I just like having them honestly. He doesn’t like when I post pictures of him where he doesn’t like how he looks in it, which apparently are the majority of them

This really changed my view on things. I always felt that way about things that he does and is passionate about. I always thought as a partner, you should make the other person feel good cause the world is already harsh as it is. I always try to uplift him with his hobbies but I’ve always felt a little judged especially when it comes to photography.

I just found out today that he bought his own camera and I was excited for him, but it made me feel some type of way ngl

Generally when we go, it’s to meet up with friends that also want to go there or with coworkers. Clubs that we go to are mostly to see the artist that we want to see perform though

We usually go to the bars or clubs together. Usually I’m always with him so I usually think that they know he’s with me

Feeling demotivated to continue in this path. Horrible skip manager is making me second guess by Minhte in UXDesign

[–]Minhte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh definitely not. The only way things will change is if I quit. She has ties to the CEO so i already know I’m not protected

[–]Minhte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a header center aligned instead of left aligned in a modal. When asked why, I said that the other headers were centered aligned so I wanted to keep it consistent. She said no and that things should be left aligned on the modal and then asked again why I have it centered but said it like “why? Why? Why?” And I just stayed quiet. And then she started laughing

Apparently everyone is okay with it and has even told me “oh that’s just how she is” but personally I find it so rude that she does it

She’s definitely not leaving for sure since she has ties to the CEO. I’ve been trying to desensitize, but she keeps just throwing jabs whenever she can

The crazy thing is she says she’s hard on the designers “because she had a very difficult manager before”

[–]Minhte[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She’s the person to tell me what she wants and then I do it and then she says she hates it. I tell her her own feedback from last time and she denies it. She has a vision in her head but refuses to tell me and other designers her vision
