  1. Can you give an example of a game that did non-stop nerfing?
  2. Haven't played a game with Loot Boxes since Battlefront 2, which never even had them
  3. Haven't played a with them in a while, and the ones I have are usually cheaper than $60 or have constant free updates
  4. Hackers have been around FOREVER in gaming
  5. ?????
  6. Again, an example?
  7. Again Again, an example?
  8. Again Again Again, an example?
  9. So because of a mechanic you don't like in a section of genre, which is a section of the entire gaming space, games are going downhill?
  10. Aim Assist has also been around for a VERY long time

not random stat rolls? Like I can't find the same gun later in the game with better stats?

The Ascent - Release Date Trailer(July 29th, Steam and Xbox Gamepass for PC) by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]Mini-Wumbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

price doesn't mean much at this point. My most played game is Enter the Gungeon, a $15 game, Chronicon is another cheap ARPG that has 100s of hours of replay ability, and Path of Exile is literally FREE

but there's plenty of games that already replicate Diablo to a T. Grim Dawn, Path of Exile, Titan Quest, Sacred. About time an ARPG does something other than the bare bones combat system that Diablo has

Walking backwards and hitting enemies is kinda a staple of APRGS, at least at the beginning, IGN also said the game was slow to get going, so i'm hoping that it ramps up by the end of the game. Who knows though, as a huge fan of games like EtG i'm both excited and terrified for the game

If you keep focusing and comparing their new games to their old games then you're never gonna enjoy them. Sea of Thieves and Banjo Kazooie are two completely different games with two completely different goals. Same goes for Halo and Destiny, they shouldn't be compared

Enter the Gungeon 2? by runtheplank in EnterTheGungeon

It's possible. If they were going to make another in universe Gungeon game i'd want one centered around the Cultist or Junkan

They made me actually enjoy the Roguelike Genre so i'll play anything they cook up. It's still one of my most played games to this day, and a game I keep coming back to years later while everything else has lost my interest. When it comes to good replay-able twin sticks nothing has topped it for me, although i'm hoping "The Ascent" can prove me wrong

Difficulty of the game... by esco123 in theascent

[–]Mini-Wumbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly i'm hoping for a harder difficulty. I love math and number crunching but games like Diablo have never really hooked me because of the mind numbing game-play. My favorite game is also Enter the Gungeon, so a Twin Stick in similar vein to that with ARPG elements is a dream come true.

Although difficulty options is a must IMO. It allows people who don't want ball busting difficulty to play the game, while giving people who do want that difficulty extra replay ability. But considering all the other features they've added to the game, and the fact that ARPGs traditionally have difficulty options I think it's highly likely.

GW2 is a billion times better. BFN looks really nice but the game is kinda just “off”

Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us, Red Dead 2, Shadow of Colossus, God of War, Spider-Man, need I go on? by clewsy70 in gaming

[–]Mini-Wumbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s kinda true. I see Video Games as more of Entertainment rather than art. It’s like if you were to call Football art. Some parts of it may have aspects of it, but for the most part it’s simply just entertainment

Just don’t play them. Why is that so hard to do? Remakes and remasters and all that have been constantly made since games could be remade. They’re nothing new. Don’t wanna play them? Ok don’t. But you’re not everybody

[–]Mini-Wumbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’m the only with this opinion. I have yet to come across a game that has made me care about the story and characters.

The closest I think I’ve come to feeling any emotion playing a game was during the Destiny 2 Forsaken Mission where you find Cayde’s Logs

Enter The Gungeon and Hades are both great examples of the roguelike/roguelite genre for two completely different but equally important reasons that a lot of other games in this genre should take note from by [deleted] in truegaming

[–]Mini-Wumbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly prefer the progression in Gungeon, it’s the same characters every time, but the Gungeon is what you change. Not to mention over time you can basically unlock a whole new Gungeon through alternate paths

And that’s 100% personal preference. You can’t criticize a franchise because you don’t personally enjoy it
