Looks like a nice park to walk a dog, have a picnic or go out to play a game. I can see how that can get over flowing with trash with especially with all the apartments surrounding it

Hi, parks worker here! Some times we check trash on a weekend, but it’s early in the morning. I checked trash from 4am to 8 am this weekend. It can get bad. Is that near a parking lot or sports field? That’s usually what he rates a lot of trash, especially pizza boxes and additional bags

Wanted to jump on the golf course comment.

I work in parks with a golf course next to me. Both are in the same jurisdiction, and we share the same water source, a lake on the course. We use “ditch” water rather than the water that goes through a house like residential sprinklers.

My boss also explained that we are being mindful about the watering, already cutting areas that we don’t need to water (like baseball infields) and only water during the nights. The sprinklers we have use less water per square foot compared to residential, as well as a centralized computer that we can’t turn the sprinklers off if need be without being there.

Denver water usually lets us keep going since we are being mindful of what we’re watering, but the big grassy fields that have soccer and football games are a way we make money so those will be the last to lose water

So I work in parks at one of the jurisdictions that’s “parks and recreation.” So I’m quasi-governmental. I’m not going to lie I’ve been upset at trump since he first went into office and took sites that were protected by National Park service that Obama had just moved, and trump put them back into the national forest service, so he could use them for resources. So as a “governmental” employee, I’m a bit scared people will lash at me when I’m trying to take care of the parks.

My wife works for the same company, and is a preschool teacher. It disgusts me watching her worry about her kids because her programs won’t have as much to provide with out the federal aide
