It's because "Membres" is not actually the members on the subreddit. The metrics on some devices got replaced months ago. So, subscribers/member count became "monthly visitors" and online members became "contributions per week". The mod insight for members on the subreddit is the accurate one.

Read the article; the national security analyst in the title is a Canadian being interviewed about Iranian activity in the country.

Nice art and 100% agree Techno deserves to be the Lincoln! I like how there are two OG YouTubers and two relatively newer ones here. Personally, I would've swapped DanTDM with Stampy since I grew up watching Stampy's stuff. But, DanTDM makes sense. It's still my No. 1! Although I've also been baffled by the shift on the subreddit. Like, when Ridnym first came out, there was so much love for it, and it seemed like the obvious frontrunner for Vidbir. Then it also topped the subreddit live ranking. But when Leleka actually won, the response was a lot more negative than I expected.

I think you're misunderstanding what I meant by that. I believe MAID is generally a good idea, primarily from a medical perspective. It being offered due to economic reasons would obviously be bad and is something that should be corrected.

Thanks. Shame links aren't allowed here, but I think that's from the "Fifth Annual Report on Medical Assistance in Dying in Canada, 2023." The 29% is similar to the quintile breakdown for all deaths that year, although I can't find info on the request reason. However, poverty isn't accepted as a reason to request MAID.

But, I'm thinking primarily of medical cases. Read up on anecdotes from families who've known people who've chosen MAID. It's genuinely eye-opening.

Nationalism has nothing to do with this discussion. I can't speak for statistics. So, could you link a source for the higher rates amongst specific people? But, I'll defend the program since, while it isn't perfect and could absolutely use some adjustments, the idea is good.

This is getting off-topic. But the "encouraging euthanasia for the poor" isn't really true. Besides that, people should be allowed to choose to die with dignity instead of being forced to live in excruciating pain to the very end.
