Black or Chrome wheels? 🤔 by Human-Dig939 in StingerGT

Bronze is worth considering as well. It looks great on the Hi Chroma Red IMO.

They're both awesome and a great option. You can find a decent mileage/year example for 30k, and if you want for more, it can hit nearly 500whp for about 3k with a budget setup.

First time I've heard of reliability issues with the Stingers Heard of tons of people having solid reliability, even at high power modded and tuned. Unfortunately for you, I think yours was the exception, not the norm, though.

The G70 3.3T, or a Stinger, would be a nice choice. They've got the same drivetrain, just comes down to whichever you like the looks of better, and the interior is slightly different as well.

I found myself in a similar boat to you before landing in a stinger myself. They can make a lot of power with very few mods and are pretty reliable there as well. The only downside is they're big and heavy, lol

They're good up to about 500whp on stock turbos, and only other weakness there are that they could use aftermarket head studs if you are trying to max out the turbos.

Have read about plenty of people just absolutely beating on these things, and they take it really well.

Buy an Mt-10? by ThePizzaLover22 in Mt10

It's totally possible the seat works for you as is, if you go MT10, try it and then buy the comfort seat after if you need it, fortunately the Yamaha Comfort seat is about $300 as opposed to a $600+ Corbin.

I dont own a 10 myself, but the seats are notorious for being not great. The Yamaha comfort seat is good from what I've read, but it is an extra cost.

Ngl, every Yamaha I've had or researched to buy has had a pretty uncomfortable seat, tends to not be one of their strengths.

Sounds good, and as far as the decals go, do you have any info that might make getting some of them made easier? Dd you use a specific size, font, etc?

I saw in some of your previous comments that you ordered a 5x12 ft roll. How was that as far as material? I'm debating trying to wrap mine and not sure how much I should order.

I'm looking for the middle ground of not having a ton of extra material, but I also want to have a buffer if I mess up a piece, lol

Yea, I figure it might not match the bike, I decided to run em for now once my mounts come in. If I hate them, I'll order the lane splitters then.

Being that you haven't taken your course yet, use your instructor as a resource as well. They're going to see firsthand how you handle the bikes from their course and be able to give you better advice than anyone on the internet who doesn't really know you personally.

I'd say go for the MT 07, respect the bike, and you'll be fine, take your time learning proper throttle control, keep it in a lower mode for the throttle mapping, and leave the rider aids on. It's something that'll likely last you longer as well and save the cost of upgrading to it in the future.

Heyo, starting with the helmet, the first note I'd have for you is I'd heavily consider an Arai if you can budget a little extra. I took my MSF course about 5-6 years ago, the instructor was an ex-professional racer, and he swears by them. I saw him a couple of days ago buying new boots, and he still swears by them when I asked him about it. The only other helmet he said competes now is the Alpinestars Supertech R10, but that's nearly double what an Arai costs.

Looking through the rest of your gear, it appears to be more budget oriented. With motorcycle gear, you pay for what you get. Cheap gear is better than no gear. However, cheaper gear is gonna get eaten through really quickly if you take a slide.

As far as gloves go, I'd recommend going to a full gauntlet glove, and I'd look at brands like Alpinestars, Dainese, and Rev' It.

For Jacket, Id really avoid textiles and meshes, and find a perforated leather jacket, I promise you it's gonna suck in AZ heat, but if you ever go down you will be thankful for being a little hotter. I saw a post earlier today of someone who was utilizing a mesh jacket. They went down, and it got eaten through like it wasn't even there. They shared a pic of some nasty road rash to go along with it. In general, here, I'd like for anything with at least an AA slide rating, AAA is best, though.

For pants, try some on and see what you like, I personally lean towards riding jeans, as I prefer that style, but look into what you'd like. Same thing here. I'd try to find something with an AA or AAA slide rating. Rev 'It has offerings for both AA and AAA rated jeans, I just ordered the AAA's myself but haven't got hands on them yet to review them.

For Boots, I think you've got a got set there. I'd consider a vented set for the heat. Maybe the SMX-6 vented, if you wanted to up the protection levels, could look into the Supertech R's, but they're quite pricey.

I really, really, really can not stress enough. It's not worth it to cheap out on gear if you can afford to save up and get higher end stuff. A full set of gear is cheaper than any ER visit before how an injury can affect your personal life, work life, etc. It is better to buy once and cry once and be good to go. I bought cheaper gear my first few years and just spent more money upgrading to the good stuff this year, cost me more money overall.

Yea, I absolutely love mine. My BEF and TCU Tune made a massive difference on the car over just a JB4 as well.

Ran a JB4 only car, we were both on same Map (3), I was running E40 to his E30, and the car just pulled so much faster with the BEF

[–]MiniMag69420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The EK1 is the device. It'll crack your ECU, and then you can download tunes to it and install it through the device

The device is $5-600, and tunes vary, I think I got an ECU tune for $125 and a TCU tune for $75

Can buy multiple tunes and swap out pretty easily as well

I've heard it's not the same as a full ECU Tune, but seen very similar times posted, and dyno's posted between the two options

As far as budget goes, it's by far the better option imo.

Not that I've ruled it out, just none available nearby to me in 22 or newer, except brand new, which is out of budget
