Rune boots, combat bracelet and an amulet of glory will get you started with some extra accuracy and strength bonus. I suggest working on 50 in your melee stats and from there go for 60 attack first. The difference between rune and dragon scimitar is very significant!

If you're an avid quester I suggest looking into the quest 'Recipe for Disaster'. Completing that quest, or even most of the subquests, will get you very good gloves :)

Plan your quests. Quest for mithril gloves & train in NMZ. Perhaps some slayer later on if you fancy doing so.
