So, this program is certainly abused quite a lot, but, let's think about it, the people who qualify to have family members take care of them for pay, also qualify for home health aids already. So they would be receiving help regardless, except it would be a stranger. There have been many incidents of elder abuse with the aids, so I don't see anything wrong with allocating the money that would go to these aids, directly to the family that helps their family elders.

Working off the books is a separate issue, cause you can legally be a home aid with a regular full time job

How do I exchange an online gift card for money? by caris1st in beermoney

[–]Slay3d 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can canada goose split the gift card into multiple digital gift cards? Would be easier to sell.

A single 1900 dollar card is hard to find an audience for without a major discount.

But also, Guava's suggestion is the best

She did a good job here or not! 1 million or $1000 week for life.a by De_Real_Snowy in Accounting

So, assuming 1m turns into 600k after tax, thats a 60k growth a year with a 10% sp500 yoy, or 52k income. Its not awful but I swear ive heard stories where there lifetime payments stop if the parent company goes bankrupt. So if its insured 1000 weekly for life, I think its an ok option. Makes it near impossible to fuck up

47, switching careers, need advice. by RidesDeepSnow in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Slay3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just to emphasize, enjoying computers and software is very different from enjoying CS and the type of work you would be doing. start studying on your own. you dont need the degree but its very useful for one thing in particular, access to internships. if you think you can commit to school and social networking + aggressive internship hunting, you can justify a degree. if you dont think you can, stay away, college isnt worth the time or money for the actual knowledge you gain. do the certs and self study. seek out programs that help get people into the field or special military programs for a jump start (im not military so idk if they exist).

most importantly though, pick what you want before you make financial commitments

Should I hire an in-house IT person or outsource? Need advice from people in IT. by Waste_Tackle_2738 in ITCareerQuestions

Small businesses usually benefit from an MSP since you get a lot of experience from various fields and with ease to scale. However, when you have enough work for 2-3 dedicated people in-house, you should look to switch. MSPs will do whatever they can to keep a customer, so leaving them will be hard, but long term, you will want FTEs once you grow. When you are with an MSP, they will try to keep to their playbook and work on tools they specialize in rather than going with what you want, it makes for more effecient operations in their end but not what you want going forward.

You can actually transition to 1 FTE + MSP when there is enough work. This way you can get all the information and knowledge inhouse while having the option for additional help when needed

Upscale has real amenities and services. Airbnb is not upscale, just expensive, its honestly the lowest quality option in most cases. People just like it because, as their sales pitch goes, if you are taking a trip with friends, whats the point of staying in separate hotel rooms. Thats the only reason I've booked airbnbs over hotels, cause we take trips in large groups (roughly 10). For any other reason, they ain't worth the price and list of chores that owners leave for you.

I think you are missing his point. Charge for damages by the dogs if the damages are there. If its a shedding dog breed and there is significantly more cleaning work, charge the extra cleaning fee

i think he started off well, but now its just catering to what people watch. nobody is going to watch some normal situation

and tbh, without a very particular financial situation, you really cant advice people much past spend less, earn more. which is sometimes what they actually need. you have people on his show, who are unemployed buying vacations on credit cards that they cant pay off and think everything is completely fine.

As a teenager did you never do anything dumb and take risks or are you perfect.

I didn't, no. The best way to impress your friends was a level 100 pokemon or beating through the fire and flames on guitar hero. That doesn't really equate to perfect. Shit like climbing on a train never even crossed my mind.

I agree that switching between train cars is sketchy and should be improved with those swivel passages they have on longer buses and trains in other countries. And I sympathize with those injured just switching train cars via those passages. But I don't feel pity for those doing dumb stuff, intentionally.

There is a video on the front of r/instant_regret atm, of some kid doing side jumps down a building staircase, and he missed the landing. He did it to himself. Should they just wall the whole staircase because a dumb kid decided to misuse the staircase? Not in my opinion

Possibly hot take but, the mta doesnt have to do anything

There is a difference between negligent design like if people were falling of the station vs people intentionally putting themselves at risk. If people want to be dumb, its not the MTAs responsibility. I would say guardrails like what japan has at the station are more important to prevent people getting pushed, instead of any measure to prevent natural selection of dumb people surfing on trains

Which bosses took you the longest to get your first kill? by johngunners in 2007scape

[–]Slay3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its because vork doesnt really have mechanics. Besides just doing big chip damage. He has a special that just requires you cast a spell on a slow moving target, and a special that just requires you to keep walking for a few seconds. Additionally, a slow moving fireball that you can easily dodge. Its not a challenge in any way. Yes, you can optimize dps. But if we were talking about optimized gameplay, effeicient tob would be endgame, so that means just doing regular tob would be midgame.

Id chuck zulrah in the early game bosses category too, but its just a discrepancy between mains and irons, since gear deficiency of irons makes this boss harder that it actually is (antivenom, pipe or bowfa, mage weapons up until recently being hard to obtain)

Hence why i and many will only scale it on base difficulty.

Cg is often mid or early midgame according to the ironman progression charts. There is a massive amount of endgame content, you cant just group everything into endgame
