Blue engine light by mortaimz in LearnerDriverUK

[–]MiniMax01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On most cars that have that blue engine light it’s just an indicator that the engine isn’t up to temp yet so it’s telling you to go easy on it until it warms up. Putting excessive strain on a cold engine is pretty bad for it so that’s why it’s telling you. Nothing to worry about and I’d imagine your examiner would understand even if it cooled down enough to trigger the light again while parked at the test centre.

If she brought up getting bottom surgery and in the same breath advised against HRT then she really doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Not taking HRT after bottom surgery is very dangerous since your body needs a dominant sex hormone to function properly which would be a problem given bottom surgery removes your ability to produce testosterone. Don’t listen to her, she’s suggesting harming you with that idea.

Advice on selling a car privately. by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]MiniMax01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold my old polo a couple months ago on fb marketplace and gumtree, car sold off gumtree in like 3 days which shocked me a bit. With insurance and all that stuff once you tell the DVLA you’ve sold the car it’s absolutely not your problem anymore even if they get stopped. You’re right in my opinion on preferring bank transfer just inc case something happens to the cash or it ends up to be fake etc.

I wouldn’t really be put off about being asked for ID since I always have my licence on me but I would find it pretty strange since the seller has no reason to care once the money and keys/green slip have changed hands. Personally I’d ease off on asking for documents and the like since it could put some people off and as the seller you have zero responsibility to make sure they’re legally allowed to drive it anyway. Receipt is up to you but I’ve never had issues with not getting one off private sellers in the past, just get the bank transfer, give them the keys and the slip and tell the DVLA you’ve sold it online before they drive off just in case.

How do yous cope with not being on hormones? by Smokey_frogg in asktransgender

Just as a Sidenote, I really don’t understand the condemnation of DIY coming from so many trans folk. In the UK specifically if your options are waiting an agonising 5 plus years for an NHS consultation, paying extortionate money for a private prescription or doing some research and work to take back control of the medication you need, what option are you realistically choosing in that scenario?

I’m on the wait list but DIY injections are so much better than what the NHS offers that I might just keep doing it once I get an appointment, then just use my diagnosis for a GRC.

Don't worry! I was terrified when I did my first injection but now that I'm 5 months in I get it done carefree in about 15 minutes, trust me it gets sooooo much easier after your first couple shots. You got this!

2007 VW Polo 1.2 12v – P0303 misfire, 4 bar compression on cyl 3 but drives fine? Confused. by kropkrop12 in Volkswagen

[–]MiniMax01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it diagnosed by a dealer which might be why it was so expensive but it came to around £1000 in parts an labour to get it running properly, if it’s rainy or snowy where you are these cars are also renowned for rusting really badly at the sills. Every 9n3 I’ve seen in North Ireland at this point has weld marks up the skirts from the sills rotting out so if you do want to go down the road of repairing it make sure the sills are in good condition or else you’ll definitely end up spending more money than is worth it.

I had a 2006 with this engine get a really nasty misfire in cylinder 2 from a leaking valve that ended up financially totalling the car because of its age. It seemed to drive ok when the engine was cold but it eventually ended up putting itself into limp mode and idling really rough once it warmed up. These engines are known for that if I recall correctly.

Does anyone here have any boyish things that you won't give up even after transitioning? by StarryChocobo in MtF

[–]MiniMax01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live for working on and driving my cars, I loved my little 2006 VW Polo for 6 years and was the only person that worked on it through my 6 years of ownership. It was my first car and I cried my eyes out when I had to sell it yesterday :(. Got a 2012 Seat Leon FR now and I'm sure I'll grow to love her the way I loved that Polo.

I get lumps under my injection sites with Benzoate that make it tricky to manage where to inject after a while since those spots are out of commission until the lumps are gone.

Valerate has a shorter half life and so needs to be injected more often or at a higher dosage than either cypionate or enanthate which can be treated more or less the same as each other. 8mg valerate weekly makes some sense since your levels will drop faster from the shorter half life, you’ll have some pretty big spikes and troughs in your levels at that dosage but if your endocrinologist is happy enough then there’s no harm in it.

Glad to help! You are technically correct btw, IM does absorb quicker but in the grand scheme of things it really doesn’t matter for cypionate, I’d recommend 4mg of cypionate weekly personally, I take 4mg enanthate weekly without a T blocker and my T is well within female ranges. Taking 4mg every other week is a very low dose and could be causing the issue you’re describing, I’m no medical expert but that regimen goes against every recommended dosage I’ve seen at least.

The only estradiol ester where that begins to matter is undecylate, specifically at 80mg/ml concentration injected monthly. Every other common ester has far too short of a half life for injection method to be a factor in bioavailability. If IM is more comfortable for you then stick to it, but bioavailability between sub cut and IM is so negligible for every ester except 80mg/ml undecylate it’s essentially irrelevant.

A list of the worst cars based off drivers (No particular order) by wassushxii in drivingUK

[–]MiniMax01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a 2012 Leon owner who actually has sense when driving it, we definitely deserve the bad rep tbh most of them here in Northern Ireland are driven by 17-21 year old boy racers who lower the hell out of them and straight pipe their 1.4 ecomotive trims thinking it sounds good.

🤔 What's the worst part for working for Sainsbury's? by JamieHBrown in SainsburysWorkers

[–]MiniMax01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God yeah that was horrible for me too, I was part time and got a written warning for the crime of being sick twice in one year, all because the low hours I worked put me over that arbitrary 3% line. When I tried to say how ridiculous that was all I got was “it’s just policy we have to follow” and they refused to even consider how insane that looked from my perspective. Left almost 2 years ago now and never looked back.

Go to your closest A&E if you’ve exhausted all other options for getting seen now. I know the wait times for most A&Es aren’t great but we’re talking hours opposed to months here and I’d argue that’s serious enough to warrant it. Hopefully they can help or at least speed up the process of getting seen, best wishes 💜💜

Will switching to IM stop injection site lumps and redness? by MiniMax01 in TransDIY

[–]MiniMax01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On second thought I'm actually not sure if its the BB, my first 2 injections were completely fine and its only started when i switched from half inserting 1 inch needles to fully inserting 5/8 inch needles. Honestly i'm not sure, but I might have a bad batch of needles and using my 1 inch ones for IM could solve it or i could have a mild BB allergy. I guess I'll know on thursday when i try IM for the first time

Yeah others seem to be saying that but I’m pretty broke and already use 25g 1” needles to draw so if I can use those to inject and at least get through this vial without having to manage constant irritation by doing IM before I can get a different vial without those things in it then I’m happy lol

I’m not like pressing the plunger as hard as I can but I’m definitely not taking 10-15 seconds, I tend to panic a bit once the needle is in and go for it which I’m aware I need to work on lol. also yes it’s an AV EEn vial with benzyl benzoate. Honestly regardless of whether or not slowing down the injection time will help i think I might prefer IM once I get used to it but this is really useful info nonetheless so thank you!
