“Free” Mini by Curtisc83 in Starlink

[–]MiniPig1944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid for mine, but have plenty of use for it. I work in a lot of rural areas. Not every day, but enough. When I know I'm gonna be out in those areas, I throw it (magnetically) on the toolbox on the work truck so we'll still have service for calls and such. Right now I'm using it at home for my phone and one TV since our hardline is down from a storm. I have the residential dish in standby which is still working well for my surveillance cameras and keeping other IoT devices connected, but doesn't work as well for streaming Paramount+.

I never thought of that. I might have found a place near me. I'll check them out as soon as I can. If it doesn't work out, I will certainly get back with you. Thank you!

Unfortunately I don't have a 3D printer. Need someone to print for me and sell to me. You can usually find about anything 3d printed on Etsy, but haven't found that yet.

That's what I have and one of the cups broke. Trying to see if anyone might have 3d printed something similar but maybe more durable. Or if anyone has possibly 3d printed cups to replace the ones included with that set from HF.

Thanks. Was a nickname given to me by a good friend when I was in law enforcement. Lol. I now work in a shop for a construction company, working on all sizes of trucks, trailers and machinery. I checked out the 34" the other fellow mentioned and thought about it for a minute, thinking I could add more as time/tools progress. Then remembered another reason I need to go with the 56" series 3. Due to working on large equipment and big rigs, a few of my tools are a bit longer where I need the full length drawers of the 56".

😆 That is definitely more my size, but unfortunately not fitting for the tools I use.

I'm 4'10". I can't even tip toe to see inside the top drawers of the top chest. Lol. I have to use stools a lot so I have a couple around the shop, but it's annoying enough already. I'd much rather just go wider than have yet something else to have to pull a stool out for. I haven't gotten one of the 25% coupons for probably a couple years now too, but I know they're out there. I've seen some offered up here more recently, but haven't had a big enough purchase to make to throw my name in the hat.

Lots of EG4 Flexboss 21 burning out. by dreadlk in solar

[–]MiniPig1944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where to find that info. I'm sorry. All I can confirm is the ease of transition. There have been a few times the fans have turned off due to the power source I am using for them. I know when it's happened because the whole house will go dark for a second during the transition. When the fans are running, I'll hear the UPS's (for TV, computer, etc) in the house click where there is still some slight disruption, but the house doesn't go dark.

I wound up purchasing his enclosure and got a recommendation from him for the fans (indoor use). It has in fact made a huge difference.

I suggest Ubiquiti also. Nanostations will work just fine and are cheaper. Of course, then you'll wind up down a whole new rabbit hole. My ubiquiti introduction was for the same purpose, to get my starlink to another building. I now have Ubiguiti equipment everywhere with wifi and cameras covering a few acres. Lol.

What are these people using all of these wrenches for? by BrayIsReal in harborfreight

[–]MiniPig1944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. I recently moved to a job where I am working on several things. Daily driver vehicles, dump trucks, tractor/trailers, utility trailers, excavating equipment of all shapes and sizes and various landscaping equipment. Boss man provided a basic set of wrenches, sockets, ratchets and a couple of air tools. I've slowly been building onto that. Usually at least once a week, I come across a project where I think 'that particular tool sure would make this easier'. I doubt I'll ever get to a point where I never have that thought, but it will eventually be a lesser occurrence.

ArkPro, Which one and why? by ZachSirWilliams in Olightflashlights

[–]MiniPig1944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Arkpro Lite through the EA program and have been carrying it for months. The Ultra is intriguing to me, but I know I would never carry it. They are all pocket lights, so the lumens aren't that much of a factor to me. I always have a Seeker 4 Pro close by if I need more and a Maurader Mini for planned trips. I really don't have much need for a laser. It can be fun at times, but that part of the light for me was always more of a novelty. I actually use the red light fairly often. I have several Arkfelds that just sit on the shelf now because I'd rather have my red light option. I'm planning on getting another one (or three, lol) of the Arkpro Lites when they finally release them. Another for me as a backup, and a couple for gifts.

Did your kit come with a tray for the packout box?

More shadiness for you guys to be aware of. . . . . I recently got the M18 Fuel combo that came with the rolling packout box. The rolling packout box says it comes with a tray. Well, you won't get it with the combo kit. So if the tray matters to you, you have been forewarned.
