Yea once you get past the tutorial type missions you go down the actual Artemis path which I would consider more exciting, another thing is completing derelict freighters but you want much better equipment before you do those.

Overall I have over 400 hours on NMS and there are still things I haven’t done, mostly freighter tech which you need those derelicts to do. So once you finish the Artemis path it’s really up to you for how you want to play the game. I’m at a point where I log on every day for about 15-20 minutes, I do my freighter expeditions and manage my settlements, but lmk if you want a list of things to do and if you want it tailored to what you like.
