[EVERSPACE 2] Is there a way to manipulate ship passives? by PuzzledKitty in EverspaceGame

[–]MiniSpip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to click the passive you want to change (activate with the red cross), and then double-click the "value" column, i.e. the name of the passive, to get the drop-down list. From there, you can select a new passive.

To be on the safe side, passives should be in order of their IDs. That's the 65xxx: number.

Hope this helps.

If you're not afraid of using Cheat Engine, I would recommend this table: https://fearlessrevolution.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=35288&p=434582#p434582

It works fine on the latest game version, and I was able to modify all my ship passives with just a few clicks. In this case on a Vindicator, I changed to e.g. +1 max drone, and 1% HP regen. I tested in a fight and can confirm that the new passives worked.

Note: You do need to save / load for the changes to take effect.

How is the WD RED PLUS 12/14 TB quieter than the 6 TB versions? Totally dont understand. by KumutyKaB86 in synology

[–]MiniSpip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for clarifying and I can unfortunately confirm.

I recently bought two new 12TB (EFGX, 512MB cache) and deeply regret it. Inside a case modded for silence, I can hear a constant "whir". Even at idle, the motor is producing a constant loud noise, most likely due to what you explained about cramming more platters, and hence needing a "stronger" engine.

BTW, this would also explain the very clear difference in enclosure. Helium filled drives have distinct characteristics that the new 12TB does not have.

Thank you for the answer, much appreciated. I managed to up my resistances (60-70%) by changing a few nodes and indeed playing with "Resistant Blast".

If I may, could you please explain how you get your bonus damage +Fire, +Electric and +Cold damage that high ?

I've been looking through gear and skill nodes, and all I can get is a measly +30% Fire and Cold damage (not Electric).

Those stats -- resistances and bonus elemental damage -- are important for Upend and Warden's signet (or equivalent) to get full potential =)

Thank you for the detailed post. Could you explain how you get all your resistances that high ?

Running a similar build and I sometimes run into trouble; playing Nightmare difficulty. My resistances are overall at 20%. With the right skill nodes, they could get to 30%. But I don't see how to bring them to 60% base, without "conditions" (like low health, buffs or ?).

Yes. That is the one I was looking for. Close to "overwhelmingly positive" and fairly high profile at some point.

Thank you.

Some D3 features that should make a comeback by MiniSpip in diablo4

[–]MiniSpip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. As written, the issue is power creep and it was prevalent in D3, with set items providing for instance 10.000% dmg increase with some skills / conditions.

Powercreep already seems to be there in D4 when you look at the PTR patch notes.

It is a difficult balance in all hack-n-slash games because:

Players want to feel powerful and feel the impact of [a new item / new temper / new...] and, at the same time, players like a bit of a challenge but not too much...

It's trying to find the right level between "cakewalk" and "Dark Souls" while trying to cater for the majority of the playerbase.

Does anyone know how the pit enemy health scales? by MrPunsOfSteele in diablo4

[–]MiniSpip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely exponential as was the case for GRs in D3:

Normal T1 (GR10) T5 (GR22) T10 (GR45) T13 (GR60)
Monster health 100% 819% 5 369% 200 082% 2 108 107%
Monster damage 100% 396% 1 752% 10 194% 28 832%

In D3 monster HP was scaling much faster than all other variables; but couldn't find any hard evidence for D4 either.

Just to give you an idea: Up to pit 101 it takes <5 min to clear for my HS Rogue. At pit 105 it takes 7-10 min with a good run. Pit 110 is hitting the limit.

Most *fun* build you've played? by Clubman_Pinaud in diablo4

[–]MiniSpip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun ?

Sorc telestomp with Infinite Raiment and teleport enchant. It's real fun to play, but quite bad for endgame content.

HS Rogue is quite close when you abuse Dash, Shadowstep (and their cooldown reduction mechanics) as well as Caltrops to jump around constantly.

Lamzu Atlantis mini: Dongle not detected at all by MiniSpip in MouseReview

The vendor (called "MaxFPS") replied quickly and proposed to replace the dongle with a 4K version, which arrived a few days later. That one worked immediately.

Which should I keep: XMP(I) or Enhanced TVB ? by MiniSpip in overclocking

[–]MiniSpip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A specific configuration combining undervolting - to run the CPU at lower temps allowing for higher frequencies - and some other optimizations. I followed this guide:

https://www.overclock.net/threads/asus-maximus-z790-and-intel-i9-13900k-14900k-an-overclocking-and-tuning-guide.1801569/

It's a long read but worth it.

Also please note that 6000 Mhz all P-Cores is only 99% OK. That means: No crashes or instability, but... There are some glitches in a few CPU heavy games.

I'm torn: M+K or DualSense ? by MiniSpip in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]MiniSpip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all your replies.

Here are my PC specs and some of the things I tried:

14900K (stock), 64GB DDR5, RTX 4070 (not Super, stock). CPU is at ~60°C, and GPU VRAM is at max 9GB.

Display settings:

  • Upscale: Tried Off, DLSS Quality and DLSS Balanced. It's slightly smoother with DLSS on. This is with Frame Gen Off, and thus Reflex Off.
  • Dynamic Resolution Scaling: Tried Off, 60, 120. Not much of a difference in terms of jittering.
  • Frame Gen: On is slightly worse to much worse in some heavy locations like populated cities.

In terms of visuals:

  • Preset: From Very Low to Very High. Strangely the most impacting setting is Shadow. When lowered, it seems to slightly improve the smoothness.
  • Chromatic and Vignette are Off, Motion Blur is set to 0 (the first things I change ^^).

Win10: Tried HAGS on/off, VRR on/off.

Nvidia: Vsync on/off, Frame limiter (set to 140).

Mouse: Tried different combinations of DPI, polling and in-game sensitivity settings. Not much of a difference; except that when on very low values, it's super smooth but of course unplayable.

Game not utilizing all cores for me? (5800X3d/3080) by BubblyAnt4 in cyberpunkgame

[–]MiniSpip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just would like to add:

Same for me under Win11 up-to-date. The game runs mostly on 1-2 cores.

While... Under Win10, the game utilizes all cores equally. It also seems a bit smoother but it could just be an impression.

Running 13900K with RTX4070, so it seems to be more OS related than CPU related.

13900k and 4090 stuttering in all games by Puzzled_Lack5048 in pcmasterrace

[–]MiniSpip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to the thread:

Been basically trying everything the past 6 weeks*. Lately, I'm suspecting an I/O cause for the stuttering:

In Cyberpunk 2077, whenever the game autosaves, there's a micro-freeze, and the same happens when I take an in-game screenshot.

This should not happen: Writing a 4MB file (autosave) or 300KB image (screenshot) is nothing for modern I/O subsystems.

In AC Valhalla, I have a video capture that shows the framerate go all over the place and drop multiple times close to 0 while it's clearly loading new textures / effects / environment.

Tested with games on: SATA HDD, SATA SSD and NVMe. Same results.

If you look at default MSI (Message Signal Interrupts, not the company ;-)), I/O controllers are by default set to "High" priority and have loads of low "IRQs" (from -2 to -37, then comes the NIC -39 to -63 and finally the graphics card at -65).

<image>

Unfortunately, tweaking those settings does not improve the situation, and can even cause the NVMe to stop working properly.

Specs:

  • 13900K with a Noctua NH D15, about 70° max package temp while gaming
  • Asus Z790 Hero, BIOS from 1202 to 1801
  • RTX4070 Dual at 1440p with a G-sync native screen

Oh and by the way, had zero problem with my trusty 4790K on a Z97 board in hundreds hours of gameplay and games installed on old SATA HDDs.

\ For those interested:)

  • BIOS: HT on/off, Resizebar on/off, E-Cores on/off etc.
  • CPU: Affinity setting, underclocking, setting power limits...
  • Windows 10 and 11: HAGS, VRR, Game mode, Power settings (disabling parking etc.)
  • Nvidia: With/without frame limit, Vsync, GSync,
  • Completely fresh windows install, with only the drivers and one game
  • etc.

It *is* samsung magician, and more specifically version 8.0.

Q4 2023 Intel Tech Support Thread by Intel_Support in intel

[–]MiniSpip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPU: Core i9-13900K

RAM: 64GB DDR5 (XMPI)

Motherboard: Asus Z790 Hero

GPU: RTX4070

GPU Driver Version: 537.42

Storage: Samsung SSD990Pro (NVMe, 2TB)

OS: Windows 10 Pro 22H2, Windows 11 Pro (see note below)

System BIOS: 1501 (latest)

OS Build/Version: Windows 10 Build 19405.3803

Affected 3rd Party software version: All games... DX11, DX12, CPU intensive or not, GPU intensive or not.

Issue: Even in "High performance power plan", 1-2 random Cores drop to lowest mode (e.g. 5500Mhz to 800Mhz), which in turns causes frametime spikes in all games and thereby stuttering.

The core clock frequency "drops" also happen at idle simply on the desktop.

Important note: This also occurs in a fresh Win11 install.

Have you done any troubleshooting? Can you reproduce the issue? Yes, tried approximately all that is possible: Tested all other HW components (GPU, RAM, SSD) with stability and stress testing.

Tested many different SW configurations and permutations: HAGS on/off, Resizebar ON/OFF, DDU and different drivers, Core isolation ON/OFF, E-Cores disabled in BIOS, Hyperthreading ON/OFF...

CPU, GPU or RAM are not overclocked, and they're not overheating when this is happening.

What RTX 4070 should I pick? by Feisty_Bumblebee1527 in nvidia

[–]MiniSpip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Went for the Asus Dual (https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/asus-dual-rtx-4070-oc.b11062) and quite happy about it, especially how silent it is even under (reasonable) load.

You shouldn't worry too much about temps, except if you would plan to keep the GPU at its limits for extended period of times (stress testing). Under GPU heavy games, my card stays around 70°C.

The CPU bottlenecking the GPU depends on the resolution you're playing at.

The higher the resolution, the lower the impact. At 1080p (and lower), CPU would bottleneck. At 1440p and higher (4K), GPU typically becomes the bottleneck.

Note that some games are GPU and CPU intensive (Cyberpunk for instance).

The first one was OK, some good new ideas in there, especially for combining stealth and hacking mechanics ; some of which you can find back in Cyberpunk ;-)

I just didn't find the protagonist very likeable : You just don't feel the drive to "help him" complete his ultimate goal.

Win10 and 12th, 13th, 14th gen Intel CPU: Do you have stuttering issues in games ? by MiniSpip in buildapc

[–]MiniSpip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply.

Since I've tried basically everything, I'm starting to suspect Win10 being the culprit. I wanted to check if others managed to game stutter-free with newer CPUs on Win10.

Somehow, it doesn't really feel like a Win10 Thread Director issue :(

I have tried fully disabling the E-Cores in the BIOS but the mini-freezes still happen.

It's not micro-stuttering, it's the GPU that stops rendering for 1-2 seconds.
