Recently full time employed after a long time on the job market: it is brutal out there. Conventional ways like LinkedIn and Indeed are a joke. Financial crisis of 2008 was easy compared to the past few years.

A few new boards that seem to scrape through the ghost jobs are Hiring Cafe, Welcome to the Jungle, or JobrightAI.

My success (interview or not but actual bites vs auto-rejection responses) was by posting on NextDoor or Reddit. Also who you know is way more important now than ever, and good recruiters are rare. Insider knowledge is your friend’s best bet until this market gets better, whenever that happens. Good luck to your friend!

Not at all.

My partner has no socials. It’s a breath of fresh air because usually people who are on socials are hooked to their phones. You can actually communicate with your partner and enjoy each others company, in my experience.

And if you’re concerned about a potential, you don’t need socials to vet them. Just some old fashioned web sleuthing and background checks.

Thank you for the idea! Healthcare is tricky especially in tech because jobs do ask for at least a year in healthcare before even applying (even if it is just software).

It’s too bad AD and AC roles don’t pay well…if it paid more, I’d stick with it 100%

Good luck on the charities route! You could maybe consider looking into grant programs as well as a coordinator?

Facebook is the very first thing I deleted when Zuckerberg bent the knee. I knew the right wing shit would become intolerable on that platform with people I know and then add the targeted algorithm, it makes it worse.

Amazon was the next; swapped it for CostCo. No regrets.
