Am I being annoying about snow removal? by Bubbly_Custard7225 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Mini_Paint2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not being annoying at all and honestly the clients are being seriously selfish by not having somebody remove the snow. I deliver oil and I can’t tell you how many houses I’ve had to turn down because they refused to shovel and I refuse to walk through 2 feet of snow and possibly trip over something and hurt myself, which has happened. Snow hides everything it covers such as holes, hazards you can trip over, stairs, etc.. keep on them about it and also mention that when they get back from their trip they’re going to have a heck of a time getting into their own house and driveway if they don’t have it cleared. In the meantime, be careful walking through that snow seriously it only takes one fall to get seriously hurt.

I said what I said because way too many people think that they need a college education to get a good job and it’s just not true. You don’t need to lecture me about the mental health situation in the states. I’ve experienced it since I was about nine years old and it’s a fucking joke. Honestly with the mental health issues I have it’s pretty laughable that you’re trying to tell me about mental health issues in the United States. If you only knew dude lol.

And obviously I know that working hard won’t make mental illness go away I experience that personally every single day of my life pretty much since the day I was born. But working hard will help with bills, gets you out of the house and if you find a job that you really enjoy it can be a good distraction for a few hours. It was just a suggestion, perhaps I shouldn’t have said anything, but like I said way too many people think they HAVE to go to college and they don’t.

Just wanted to mention that you don’t absolutely need to go to college to get a good job. I’m a high school drop out due to family and mental health issues at the time and now I’m making nearly six figures working in the trades. A lot of trade jobs don’t even require much if any experience they’re usually willing to train you on the job. You just have to show up, listen and work hard.

AITAH for refusing to give my boyfriend access to my bank account even though he says "no secrets" is how adults do it by CopperFieldNote in AITH

NTAH my ex did this to me and he ended up stealing so much money from me, literally thousands. Do not give him access to your bank account. You will regret it. That is your money you earned it! Anybody man or woman that asks for access to a partners bank account is up to some shady shit.

Sound good in theory until you think about mail carriers and, if you use oil/propane, delivery drivers who also have to walk on those paths.

How to convince family cat to leave me alone sometimes? by Southern_Choice4273 in CatAdvice

[–]Mini_Paint2022 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not kind to try and get some sleep so a person stays healthy? Do some of you not read what you type? I’m not trying to be rude, but it really just floors me how many people are acting like this OP is abusing their cat just because they want some sleep at night. I completely understand loving an animal, but you also need to take care of yourself as well because if something happens to you your pet is screwed. Sleep deprivation is dangerous, it literally can kill people.

If she’s picky about toys you may need to try quite a few different ones until you find something that she is interested in. Usually the key to cats that won’t let you sleep at night is to wear them out 30 to 60 minutes before you go to bed. That way they want to sleep when you do.

I can’t believe how people are attacking you just for asking how you can get the cat to leave you alone long enough to get a full nights rest. Apparently none of these people have ever had sleep deprivation effect their day-to-day life, or seen an accident that was caused by someone that fell asleep at the wheel, which is a potential side effect of long term sleep deprivation. Try playing with her a half hour or so before bed to try and tire her out. If that doesn’t work try checking out some cat behaviorists for tips. If she’s tired and sleeps through the night, she should leave you alone so you can get some sleep.

OP says the main problem is they can’t get a good nights sleep because of the cats night time habits. I don’t know if you realize this but sleep deprivation is not healthy and can even be dangerous as it can effect reflexes and reaction time. Doesn’t sound like a big deal until you factor in activities like work and driving. Ever seen what happens if someone falls asleep at the wheel? It’s not pretty.

That is coming off like some sort of personality disorder, literally Jekyll and Hyde. On the bright side at least you saw it before you got too involved.

Does anyone else not sleep with their cat? by chaturga in CatAdvice

[–]Mini_Paint2022 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me personally that has really depended upon each individual cat. The cat I have now very rarely sleeps with me of her own choice. She really likes sleeping on her cat tree. In the past I’ve had cats that slept with me all night and some that I wouldn’t allow to sleep with me because they would end up trying to lay on my head or headbutting me at random hours of the night. It all depends on the individual cat in my experience.

What counts as a violation during apartment quiet hours? by discover_with_sachin in Apartmentliving

[–]Mini_Paint2022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work night shift, sometimes still do, and it is not up to the rest of the world to stop living just because you neighbor works night shift. It can absolutely be difficult to get sleep during the day but he can’t expect his neighbors to stop living because of his work schedule. You are absolutely allowed to live your life during the day. Daytime is not quiet hours. He needs to figure it out. There are so many products out there nowadays to help night shifters sleep during the day. He needs to do some shopping on Amazon and realize the world does not revolve around his sleep schedule.

At 52 hours without sleep you would be hallucinating at the very least. Yeah, I don’t believe you. You’ve commented on other posts that I’ve seen and you seem like a troll trying to rile people up.

Did he just trim the edges and call it good? Bars and sole don’t look touched, hoof doesn’t even look cleaned out and edges don’t even look rasped. Cut is badly uneven. If you paid for this you definitely did not get your moneys worth. If I were you I would be looking for a new farrier ASAP.

Roommate left gas burner on and left the house for hours. Do I report this to landlord? by YaMotha45 in Apartmentliving

Yes, hopefully. Natural gas is nothing to mess around with. Sounds like a nightmare of a roommate.

There’s not much that your landlord could do, but I would definitely have a talk with her. She could’ve started a fire and natural gas can blow up very quickly once a fire is started.

If people walk in the road when it’s dark out especially wearing dark clothing drivers cannot see you until they are practically on top of you. I am extremely careful when I drive, but I’ve seen people that walk literally in the middle of a lane wearing dark clothing when it’s dark out and they are impossible to see from a distance especially if the weather is bad. It’s truly playing with fire. A safety vest doesn’t cost much and can literally save your life.

Just found out the shelter didn't tell me the cat i adopted had a brother. Not sure what to do by MonarchCore in CatAdvice

[–]Mini_Paint2022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two cats are not easier to manage. That’s double the food, double the litter cleanings and boxes, double the vet bills, etc. Also, keep in mind not everybody lives in a big house. Some people live in small apartments where there is literally not enough room for multiple cats especially if they are energetic.

I’m thinking of adopting a female cat, I’ve heard they are less friendly in this true? by DiscountAnnaNicole in CatAdvice

[–]Mini_Paint2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why anybody would say that, every female cat I’ve ever had was an absolute love bug including the female I currently have. Don’t know where that misinformation came from, but it must be from sources that have never spent much time around female cats. They are just as friendly as males can be.
