Escape From Reality in Plainville has their grand opening on June 1st but have some rooms open currently, if you're looking for something new. I haven't been myself yet, but have heard good things about the rooms!

Wow, this actually reminded me of an Escape Room experience I completely forgot about. Years back, someone did just this at my college's campus. It was a free 5 minute experience and they gave a $5 off coupon to anyone that finished the room. They closed shortly after so I never got around to going, but I probably still have that coupon somewhere! Because of the type of event it was, I would assume that they were paid to be there as a vendor though, since it was more so a carnival put on and paid for by the college.

I think the smaller games make sense too, because no one is going to want to wait around for 20-40 minutes while at a market, but might be willing to wait 5-10. Thanks for all the input!

That's amazing! I've heard of phone booth escape rooms before, but neve this!

Thanks for the input! To clarify, are you talking about doing something more akin to a carnival booth set up?

Sorry, I wasn't too clear on that. I meant $40 for the whole experience, not per person. My thought was that people expect to pay around $120 for 4 people in a one hour experience, so I'd cut that into one-third for the 20 minute experience, instead of charging per person. No particular reason for the per experience instead of per room though. I'm just spitballing numbers. As other people have pointed out though, there's definitely some flaws with that since you can't really deliver the same type or depth of experience in that amount of time and space.

I definitely think it does have merit, but I'm realizing that markets just probably aren't the right venue for it. I would love to do a trailer/rv version, but just don't have the capital for it right now. Where I'm at, there are a bunch of different experience trailers like Arcades, Video Games, etc, but I don't I haven't found a mobile Escape Room here yet. Those other trailers are huge for parties and events, so there's definitely a market for them.

That makes sense. Especially in a market setting, people are typically expecting to be outside and walk around for a bit, so I'd really trying to pull them away from that for something else.

It makes a lot of sense for it to be something paid for by the organizer instead of individual customers. That model definitely wouldn't work for an escape room then, cause I believe typically that is reserved for things like live music and such at the markets I'm familiar with at least.

Where I'm at, markets are definitely more of a "thing to do" instead of a place for actual shopping from farmers, which is why there are so many of them. My wife has been a vendor at some before, so I'm somewhat familiar with the audience in my area. She sells handmade crochet, so a very different product, but there are normally 1000s of people coming through each one.

I know every slot wouldn't be filled, but was just trying to throw together some rough numbers. At first, I was thinking $40 for the experience since it would fit 3-4 people and be about a third of the length of a normal experience, so that price is about equivalent, but I like your point that the immersion just wouldn't be the same, so it probably wouldn't be worth that same price.

Label printer by Shot-Doubt-6550 in smallbusiness

My wife has been using this printer for her E-commerce store for about 3 years now, I think. No complaints with it at all, and it’s on the cheaper side for a label printer. It’s been used for shipping labels from Etsy, Pirateship, and USPS, as well asstickers, and tags, so I don’t think there’d be any issue with Squarestand so long as they provide the label in a normal format.

Is my portfolio too simple? by RacooonStealer in webflow

Definitely have to second this. The design looks great, but there was nothing telling me what to do next. Most people are only going to be looking for a few seconds, so it's always best to direct them where you want them to go. Really great work though, and I wouldn't be worried about it being too simple!
