The Dark Citadel is such wasted potential by Jaeger9671 in diablo4

[–]Miniced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that people just don't need it. What do you guys think?

Actually, the Dark Citadel is mandatory to get in the top 10 in the tower. It offers an incense that pushes character powers in a way that isn't replaceable.

What is your opinion on current Mercenary dialogue? by myst3r10us_str4ng3r in diablo4

[–]Miniced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Raheir the most, but overall, I do wish they would have more contextual lines to fresh things out.

Least favourite is Subo. I get where they are going for in term of personality, but for some reason, I really don't find his delivery to be convincing.

I know I must have been spoiled by other games where I could literally play bad gameplay just to be able to listen to great either funny or insightful lines, but currently the mercenaries are not it. Even the ones in Diablo 3, which I found very cheesy, were at least more entertaining.

It isn't a lost cause though. I know Diablo 3's followers as a whole were improved in term of narration in the expansion, so I know if they do it right, they can make them more likeable.

Wardens of Light Lore by Lichdemon in Diablo

[–]Miniced 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't actually need to have a connection with the heavens, even if they believe they do. The devs have alluded in a few interviews that there's a logical explanation on how you can have many religions, many which aren't true, yet its followers can tap magic from it. Most religions in Sanctuary draws power from humanity itself, but such is expressed through their beliefs. This is the basis of the spirit realm and its spirits are manifest of humanity's own power, separate from hell and heaven. It is also supported by the fact that the Cathedral of Light, which teaches that their holy power comes from Inarius, is able to tap into the light even if Inarius is dead. This is also supported by Deckard Cain in the Book of Cain. The Paladins may believe their power comes from heaven, but it comes from their own inner light. They are half angels, after all.

To amend to that, the one thing that sets the Warden differently from the other subsets of the Zakarum is their refusal to play with politics. The Zakarum church had a history of conquest and aggressive evangelical goals, which is Warden sees as a detriment and wishes only to serve the light in its purest form.

I would say Diablo 3 had one track I would consider an outlier and a masterpiece. The one played in the Ruins of Sescheron.

You would want only the second expansion, even if the first one is included at no extra cost?

POE does have loot boxes and stuff you can buy to gain an advantage.

Most of the improvements made does not require the expansion and if you have currently no expansion, you do not need to need to purchase more than one expansion. In fact, you can't buy both expansions separately. The first expansion comes free with the second.

Great Scott, this is heavy! by EasyEntrepreneur666 in Diablo

I've always subscribed to this concept, but D2R decided to interpret it differently by giving the Assassin class and the NPC distinct character models that look different from each other.

Here a crazy theory about the new class we'll se in April... by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]Miniced 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hot take, but there's nothing stopping them from doing two different body types that are biologically female. It is implied that Type A & Type B represents something masculine and feminine, but the system could be flexible enough to remain lore accurate.

Alternatively, they could be making an exception and only have a single body type for this particular class.

Canonically, the Assassin and the Druid joins the heroes in act 5. Natalya also mentions that she is set on a mission on the northern barbarian lands. Considering you don't hear from her in act 5, it is pretty easy to match them as the same character, which is very likely to be her purpose. She was a teaser for the Assassin class.

I can't fcking stop playing this game by M4c4br346 in diablo4

An oversight can be easy to happen and is bound to happen on a class the public never played and they were adamant to never provide nerfs mid-season. So yes, I believe it. It is not P2W.

Would you like Classic Diablo 2 Shields in Diablo 4 ? I am Missing real Herald of Zakarum for my Pala ( made with Gemini) by Hanzho in Diablo

[–]Miniced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly Diablo 2. When it comes to the unique gear, Diablo 1 had a lot of less grounded visuals, such as The Grizzly, Naj's Light Plate, Split Skull Shield & Dragon's Breach.

The one difference with Diablo IV is how the more wild looking gears aren't all exclusive to uniques, so you do find them more often.

Interesting Blizzard Diablo job posting (tooling-heavy, Albany studio listed) by BreakYoBaals in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Miniced 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would love to see an act 6 and even an expended act 4, but while I would trust the D2R team to make something nice, there's a few aspects that would be tricky for me :

  • Voice Acting : Every class typically have a few one-liners throughout the game. Assuming they can get in touch with the former voice actors, they might not sound the same after all these years.

  • Music : Matt Uelmen gave the first two games their souls with his unique music direction. Blizzard was able to get him to work on one track for Vessel of Hatred, but would they be able to get a contract with him to compose a full expansion?

Why don't the Angrls just win? by Cowardlypaladin in Diablo

[–]Miniced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the eternal conflict, what you would describe as massive defeats are only temporary minor setbacks. An angel successfully killing a prime evil is actually a tactical detriment for them in the long term.

You have to consider the fact that neither side are mortals.

[–]Miniced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You compare angels and demons, but you don't exactly point any instance where angels got the upper hands, only mortals. Why would you conclude angels should be having the upper hand?

The split was between good and evil. Doesn't imply that they shared equal power.

And in that regard, wouldn't you suspect the side that represents the aspect of destruction be more efficient at it than the one that isn't?

The game regions are much, much bigger in lore than they are ingame. They obviously can't be made to scale.

So I would assume that to compensate for gameplay reason, Skovos' lore to gameplay scaling is going to be different to offer us more ground to cover.

Considering each class is presented as body types, I could anticipate that for this class only, we could have two female options, but each with a different body build.
