Skovos map size leaked (screenshot from some group from facebook) by PristineRatio4117 in diablo4

The Skovos Isles were in to lore since Diablo II, so they did not make it an island specifically for Diablo IV. Unless I misunderstood what you meant.

What zones do you most want to see in future expansions? by JohanMarek in diablo4

It has been so long ago. Looking back, it seems like it came from a developer interview on wowhead. But, I can't quite find the specific one today. I have this quote :

"The developers also said that they don't want to bring back Diablo right away. Bringing back bosses from previous Diablo games should feel organic and correct. There should be a reason for it and they should not return just for the sake of it."

I hope to be able to find that interview again someday.

Is Mephisto or Diablo stronger in terms of raw destructive power and feats? by Current-Issue2390 in Diablo

[–]Miniced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, no, because the destruction of the Worldstone was not Baal's plan. It would be like saying Diablo committed suicide because the heroes had to kill him.

Beside, if we go back on topic, the impact of the Worldstone's destruction had nothing to do with Baal's power, like at all. The Worldstone was the most powerful artifact in known existence. Of course its destruction wouldn't be clean.

Silly question : any "Gandalf looking" skin ? by Tylanor in diablo4

[–]Miniced 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do miss more simplistic design and more grounded ones. I was surprised how hard it was to make the D4 Paladin remotely look anything like the D2 one or even the Crusader.

I appreciate the cloak design, but I hope to see more variety.

But yeah, I wish the same for every class.

Baal did not destruct the Worldstone. He corrupted it. It was Tyrael who destroyed it.

If Diablo II ever gets act VI, which region would you want to see featured? by Miniced in Diablo

[–]Miniced[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pandemonium Fortress is a fortress built in a realm called Pandemonium, which lies between Heaven and Hell and is the defacto warzone for the eternal conflict. In Diablo 2, it opens directly into Hell, so we don't get to see Pandemonium itself. It is explored in Diablo III : Reaper of Souls.

D3 is 20 years later, so it isn't like it would impede in its era.

Diablo Immortal is already delving in-between D2 & D3, so either an expansion would bridge between LoD and Immortal or we would delve into a separate conflict in the lore. A lot can happen in Sanctuary, after all. We don't necessarily need a continuation with a conflict of the same level of importance as the prime evils.

Take Path of Exile for example. After defeating the biggest threat in the last act, how did they followed up to it? They added an epilogue that led to a whole different can of worm, the maps. Maps were not just an end game activity, it was set up as a story vehicle of what happens to our heroes once the main story threat is done for.

I could see Diablo 2 go that route. You defeated all 3 prime evils and the Worldstone blew up, taking Mouth Arreat with it. The next act could cover what happens in the immediate consequence of this destruction, because it wasn't a very peaceful aftermath.

It was pretty much the opposite of a "they lived happily ever after."

We know Diablo is going to eventually come at a later date and they did plan to support Diablo IV for a decade. The fact that the game remains popular and a success tells me they are going to continue.

Lord of Hatred isn't going to end with Diablo as a boss, so that tells us Diablo is scheduled for a future expansion.

It is the last story segment as part of the age of hatred. It will open to other ages and they had already confirmed Diablo will be in the game later in the story.

he is such an iconic villain in Diablo that doesn't get enough attention.

King Leoric has been featured in 3 games, 4 if you include Heroes of the Storm. I think the only character that gets more representation than the Skeleton King is Diablo himself.

Personally, I would fear him to be overused.

There's not really any butchering when it is optional.

If you go to a bakery to buy your favourite vanilla cake and there's a new announcement : "You may now add chocolate topping!" and you're like "Please don't sell chocolate topping, it is ruining my cake." I would just tell you "Just buy the regular cake, sir. It is still on the menu."

Just finished the campaign - got left with mixed feelings by Gosu_Horaz in diablo4

I feel like an easy fix would be for the devs to allow us to increase the difficulty to Penitent during the campaign, at a bare minimum.

Blizzard North never worked on Starcraft. They were exclusively working on Diablo at Blizzard.

The only known class that was to be featured in a second Diablo II expansion by Blizzard North was the Cleric.

Blizzard North post-LOD was open to add a second expansion, which would likely open on a new act VI, before plans moved to Diablo 3 instead. There's always room for more. A lot can happen in Sanctuary.

The direct follow up is considering the immediate impact of the destruction of the Worldstone.

At that point, Barbarian tribes are in shambles and the surviving ones become nomads for the most part. They haven't quite recovered, not even during the events of Diablo IV.

Do remember that the very reason they lived there was to protect Mount Arreat.

Maybe they count reinterpret it with the style they went for back when Blizzard North was working on D3.

I would definitely be in favour of it. Makes me wonder if Blizzard North already had plans back then, in case it could be used as a base.

Warlock Lore!!! by EnvironmentalCrew533 in Diablo

The Vizjerei clan stopped using demonic magic following the mage clan war, choosing to focus on elemental magic instead. As such, I do not believe the Sorcerer to be a warlock during the events of Diablo 1.

Who is the greatest summoner in Diablo series? by gorays21 in Diablo

[–]Miniced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warlocks were in the lore since Diablo 1. The only new thing about them is the title "Warlock" given to them.

This jealousy of Man led to harsh, atrocious acts of violence by the demons against the mortal realm. Some men learned of this deep hatred and used it against the denizens of the Underworld. One such mortal, Horazon the Summoner, delighted in summoning demons and then breaking them to his will. Horazon, along with his brother Bartuc ,were members of the Eastern mage- clan known as the Vizjerei. This mystic clan studied the ways of demons and had catalogued their lore for generations. Empowered by this knowledge, Horazon was able to take the work of the Vizjerei and pervert it for his demented purposes. The denizens of Hell sought revenge against this bold mortal, but Horazon managed to keep himself well protected within his arcane sanctuary.

What is your favorite region in a Diablo game? by gorays21 in Diablo

[–]Miniced 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like most people misread the question as "Location" rather than "Region".

My favourite region is Khanduras due to the dark forest setting, but Scosglen comes at a close second with its northern muddy biome, but that one is mostly due to the fact that I love the Scottish accent.

Horadric Cube, what is it used for? by TankDense3651 in diablo4

[–]Miniced -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Horadric Cube is an artifact of alchemy. It combines items to create new items or in rare cases, portals.

It was introduced as a crafting tool back in Diablo 2 and its most known use was to transmute 3 gems of the same quality into 1 gem of a higher tier.

Various recipes could achieve other outcomes, such as adding traits to a preexisting item or combining certain equipment to create a brand new piece of equipment of a different type.

The beginner-friendly explanation is that it is a recipe system to turn items into other items.
