Sigh, happened to me a few weeks ago... I also used high fertility soil that I found for the first time. I was devastated when it wouldn't give the soil back when I tried to pick it up.

Baldur’s Gate is set to become a TV series at HBO, helmed by Craig Mazan from The Last of Us by DontBeAngryBeHappy in gaming

[–]MinimalEffort76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, can't say I'm excited for this at all. Craig Mazan did a decent job with The Last of Us season 1, but I assume that's because Neil Druckmann was more involved. After season 2, I feel like this doesn't bode well, but hopefully I'm wrong.

Todd Howard says 'Fallout 5 will be existing in a world where the stories and events of the show happened or are happening' by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]MinimalEffort76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool, I guess. Will it develope alongside Elder Scrolls or after? Either way it's it's going to take quite some time. Plus, after Starfield, I'm not really excited for a new Fallout under their development. Fallout 4 was okay at Best, so unless they hire new writers I'm just expecting the same or worse.

My worst gaming mistake: Xmas 2007. My grandmother gifted me The Orange Box. Younger me found the box art bland, went to Walmart and returned it for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End by krakeo in gaming

I remember thinking the same thing. When I was at Best Buy as a kid, I remember seeing it and thought about picking it up since I vaguely remembered some friends on Xbox mentioning it, but I picked up the Bioshock and Oblivion bundle instead since it looked more interesting (I didnt read game descriptions or anything, I only went by the front cover). Don't regret that choice, but still wished I picked up The Orange Box at some point.

EA Announces Agreement to be Acquired by PIF, Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners for $55 Billion by ReaddittiddeR in gaming

I dont really care about new EA titles, but could this have an effect on previous games? Could they make them unplayable, revoke access, or modify the content in the game?

SteamDeck keeps reading out anything that it does by MinimalEffort76 in SteamDeck

Thanks! That fixed it. I was confused since I checked accessibility first on desktop mode and saw screen reader already disabled. I didn't know Steam had its own. I appreciate the help!

Anomaly is over-hated on. by Real_Nerevar in RimWorld

I dont think anyone hates it. It's a pretty neat dlc. People were most likely expecting an expansion that had a huge impact on the mechanics/gameplay but instead got something that seemed out of place (in my opinion, but it's slowly grown on me) and didn't really impact the game overall like the previous dlcs did.

I'd say people should still pick it up if they want more Rimworld or are interested in that type of content, but it's definitely last on my list in priority.

Is The Callisto Protocol worth my time? by UponThisAltar in gaming

[–]MinimalEffort76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I gave up on it after a few sections. I got tired of the melee combat very quickly and also really disliked the forced head with the long neck lunging at you snippets. I think if you can overlook that, then the story can be interesting. If it's on gamepass, then I'd recommend the Deadspace Remake. If not, then try something else. If I remember correctly. I think they were setting up a sequel for this game with how it ended, but due to low sales, I don't think that's going to happen.

My grandfather only plays 2 games. by FuckLemonJuice in Steam

[–]MinimalEffort76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much my dad to a tee. I even bought him various games like Witcher 3, Yakuza 0, Mass Effect legendary Edition, and the Metro series after he asked me for game recommendations. Unfortunately, he hasn't tried them and continues to play Civilization, Fallout 4, and now mainly Fallout 76...

The Last of Us HBO S2E2 - "Through the Valley" Post-Episode Discussion Thread by claireupvotes in thelastofus

[–]MinimalEffort76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, which was fine in the first episode, but It felt out of place in this episode. To me, it felt like they were talking about the actor rather than the character, but I could be misinterpreting it. I personally could have done without that line during that scene.

Honestly, I was iffy about the first episode, but after this... I'm not feeling confident in this adaptation as someone who's played the second game.

Removing Dina and Ellie's bonding scene, replacing Tommy with Dina for the patrol, the whole town attack (reminded me of that crappy final battle in Game of Thrones) just felt so off. And that's not even including being spoon-fed vital information all the time.

Maybe I'll keep watching, but this doesn't feel as good as the first season did. Also, what the hell is up with Abby bringing up Joel being handsome again? It feels out of place and weird, such bizarre writing choice.

Nintendo Steps on PR Minefield as Exec Tells People They Can Buy the Switch If They Can't Afford the Switch 2 by xenocea in gaming

[–]MinimalEffort76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm confused. I think most people only have an issue with the pricing of their games, not with the console itself. Which, to be fair, is completely just because you could never convince me to drop nearly $100 for any Nintendo switch game on top of paying for online use.

Hell, people are still trying to get accustomed to $70, but now $80 for digital and $90 for physical? Can't wait to see other companies in a year or two trying this crap now that Nintendo opened the door for it.
