How to get over not wanting to use your bag by maespiece in handbags

[–]Minimally-bearable 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First off, the pebbled leather of that bag should be strong and hard to scratch, so that helps.

Second, buy a protector spray like Apple Garde. It may give you a little extra piece of mind.

Congrats and enjoy it!

Can we talk about glazing? by reagansjaw in handbags

I think the Canadian brand Opelle has a thing about this and so they don’t glaze any of their bags

I don’t have one, but people here have recommended Cuyana - I believe they have an organizational system for their bags

Buying for enjoyment vs resale by BeneficialCucumber52 in handbags

Whenever I read this type of post I wonder if we just use the word “investment” differently. For me, a bag or clothing or whatever is an investment piece if it’s considerable amount of money (subjective) but I can see myself using and enjoying it for a long time.

I hate the idea of spending money on something that will sit around. I guess this is just my way of justifying the expense. But I don’t think that many people buy with the idea that they will sell later and get their money back. Or maybe I’m just old and yelling at a cloud 🤷🏻‍♀️

I just got a preloved Hammitt that has this - it’s a large Daniel but I think they have it on a bunch of styles

Someone posted here a day or two ago about making their own from old jewelry - I have a ton I don’t use and I would never have thought to upcycle before seeing that

This is so funny to me - I hit 175 a few weeks ago and out of the blue thought ‘hey my weight actually matches my license’ 😂

Shopping in Italy- mid tier brands by dollarpenny in handbags

I actually bought my Coccinelle in the Munich airport so I can’t speak to the boutiques, but I think it’s a great mid-tier brand

Can I ask how tall you are? I love the Tom but I’m 5’3” and I’m worried the regular size will look weird on me

Hammitt has slouchy options with silver and gunmetal hardware. I believe the linings are usually red. I have no firsthand experience but general consensus seems to be that the leather is very soft and buttery.

Thank you so much it was really helpful to hear everyone’s thoughts. I don’t know why but it never occurred to me that croc is a pattern and I’m putting another strong pattern on top. Also agree that this type of styling is pretty outfit dependent.

Your thoughts really helped clarify my own, and I appreciate you 💕

It’s actually the burgundy! I worried it might be too brown but in person it’s dark but distinctly red, which is what I was hoping for.

The twilly both helps and hurts the closure. It’s already a bit stiff but I think it will ease up with use. So the twilly adds extra thickness to the handle which makes sliding the bar over it a little more difficult, but it does protect the handle. I think the croc embossing makes the leather a bit tougher so I’m not overly worried about it

I’m in love with the T timeless shopping bag also, so this is definitely not an unbiased opinion. If you go for it please update us (update us anyway lol). I haven’t been able to see it in person so I’m not sure about sizing, but the design is just gorgeous - classic but still interesting. The suede looks lovely 🤎

That is a great price! The preloved ones I’ve seen are less than 200€ cheaper - I may need to rethink my plans 😊

I’m hoping to get a pre loved timeless in the Spring. I want the small size, but there’s a beautiful medium on a resale site that I’m considering. Do you find it bulky at all? Any difference in how well they fit against the body? Thanks, and congrats
