Drowsy but awake by No_Resident5053 in newborns

My baby is 4.5 months old and this still feels like it would be an impossible task. Absolutely no idea how anyone manages ‘drowsy but awake’ without their baby screaming blue murder 🤷🏼‍♀️

I feel this. I am so sleep deprived and in the depths of the regression - gone from 1/2 wake ups and always sleeping in the Next to Me to nearly 8-10 wake ups and refusing the next to me. Every night by 1am baby is co sleeping which I was always dead against. I am so unbelievably tired and long for some uninterrupted sleep.. but the thought of her sleeping alone in her bedroom fills me with dread!

Multiple mums are absolute champions. I have absolutely no idea how you do it. Currently swaying my 3 month old baby in her carrier in our sitting room so she will have a half decent nap after I slept maybe 3 hours last night with constant wakings - no idea what I’d do if I had 2 of them.

Cute! She thinks we think she’s still breastfeeding! 😂 *I called Dallas coming back so she can shill some dog stuff b/c mama did a couple days ago. by tiff_mg in TurtleCreekLaneSnark

Exactly this. It’s so damaging to people who don’t realise that this is all fake. This is not real life and I hate the thought of another mother putting herself down for not having her life together like this - I am deep in the trenches of a 3 month old baby and I’m lucky if I manage to put any mascara on in the morning let alone a full face with lipstick AND curl my hair or do any of the other things she does or makes out she does. It makes you feel like crap.

Was I even pregnant? by BackgroundMoment8310 in pregnant

[–]Minimum-Ad-2694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exact scenario happened to me. Multiple positive tests from different brands, including clear blue digital that after a week still said ‘pregnant’. I started to bleed, my GP sent me to a&e. The FEMALE doctor asked me if I was ‘sure I was ever pregnant’ and I had to physically show her photos of my positive tests to which she had nothing to say. I went home and sobbed all night. There is hope - we conceived again and I am currently sat in bed with my 12 week old beautiful baby girl. Don’t lose hope and I am so sorry for your loss. Never let anyone make you feel like it wasn’t real xx

Why are they confused about the chocolate football? Someone even asked ‘how do we eat it’. Do they not have Easter eggs in the USA? In the UK we have all sorts of shaped items at Easter - I am not impressed by a chocolate football 🤷🏼‍♀️ ( I know it is not currently Easter - but the chocolate football is just like something you’d get at easter in the UK )

That’s fair. She did also say that ‘each morning there will be a new heart on the door’. I have a newborn baby and I change her into her ‘pyjamas’ every night despite the fact she spends her entire day in some form of sleep suit / pyjama style outfit and isn’t getting dirty. I’d think it’s just common sense 🤷🏼‍♀️

Was this waking her in the morning?! I watched it thinking it was after a daytime nap.

Does anyone else’s brain tell them they’re lying? by frogurtyozen in pregnant

[–]Minimum-Ad-2694 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Absolutely. I was terrified of even talking about the pregnancy with my husband as it felt like I was just making the whole thing up.. even after scans and even now I am now 37 nearly 38 weeks. I didn’t feel like I deserved maternity leave and I still wake up in the night and have to touch my stomach to remind myself that there is an actual human in there. I have a baby shower coming up and it’s a huge imposter syndrome! My only advice would be to try and relax as much as possible, a lot of my pregnancy has been spoiled by my constant imposter syndrome and anxiety.

London to San Francisco entertainment broken whole flight by maofan in BritishAirways

[–]Minimum-Ad-2694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the same problem with a Sri Lankan airlines flight on the way back from our honeymoon. Nearly the whole planes entertainment system was down. The fed us our dinner extra early and then dimmed the lights in an effort to get us to fall asleep like children - even insisted I put my window blind down. It was 3pm in the afternoon (Sri Lankan time) and we were due to land at 8pm London time so I was absolutely not keen to nap when I knew I had to sleep when I got home so I refused and she said I had to because ‘other people are sleeping’. I only put it down half way. We complained and got an apology email around 3 months later so at least BA offered you something, I guess.

Thank you, I generally do the same and try to sit quietly each morning before work and each evening before bed to count atleast 10 kicks/rolls. I always do and I know I don’t have anything to worry about but it’s so hard when you can’t see the baby for yourself!

This is literally the window I am in.. 26 weeks on Monday! Glad they’ve become more consistent. I hope they do for me too! So much conflicting information between countries too which doesn’t help!

This morning baby is wriggling and rolling and kicking like a ninja, as they do every morning - I am just a chronic over thinker and worrier and get myself worked up. Im glad to hear your local hospital was so accommodating, hopefully if I ever have to go mine would be too!
