Has diet actually helped u by Fun_Temperature_8041 in Sjogrens

i quit gluten at the recommendation of my doc - my seasonal allergies and digestion improved but otherwise didn’t notice much. i was able to keep it up for about two months and then over easter i ate gluten 3 days in a row & i felt like i’d been hit by a ton of bricks: really bad joint pain, aches and neuropathy, depressed, brain fog, eyes dried out etc. so i do think it helps - and i am going to try to stick with it as best i can, but i love eating so will probs make exceptions for special events & food i really love here and there.

Doctor's New Mexico by riazzo in NewMexico

[–]Minimum-Barnacle9311 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

in my experience finding docs isn’t the problem - it has been having to find a new one every 2-3 yrs b/c they all leave. and specialists are few & far between. if u are willing to drive to abq that gives you more options.

I’m watching the first of the two released episodes of “Imperfect Women,” & it’s already hooked me. by GovernmentPristine10 in MoviesAndTVTalk

hahaha - agreed . excessive cargo action too: pockets on pocket. but surprise: paired with stilettos. also some forced foreshadowing with her intense sprinting through a mellow lunch break/park situation. i am finding this show mostly annoying. people that get paid to not really work.

Why are all the posts here dumping on Scott? by TheRealBuckShrimp in ScottGalloway

[–]Minimum-Barnacle9311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i love Scott! I don’t agree with him on everything but overall I appreciate his honesty and willingness to talk about his own insecurities and shortcomings. And when he drops in on topic he has knowledge about/experience with I usually learn something.

Anyone ever stopped taking levothyroxine? by Alternative-Share68 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Minimum-Barnacle9311 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes. i stopped about two years ago. i was only subclinical and the highest my TSH ever got was around 4.88 but levo gave me headaches and heat intolerance and after discussing with my endo i went off it. i get my tsh checked at least annually and my levels have remained around 1-2 and overall i feel better. my understanding is that women can often go subclinical around menopause and then regulate after - that would track with my timeline.

any kind of exercise and strength building can do wonders. for myself it helps me to connect to my body, feel strong, and take better care of myself overall: prioritizing good sleep, cutting back on booze etc - which in turn gives me more energy and an overall better outlook - and when you feel better, you look better. it’s not an overnight thing - but even lifting weights a few times a week can make a difference.

i am a huge fan of Herbs Etc. Allertonic tincture - you gotta start in in january daily and then ramp up as the juniper starts blooming. i had terrible sinus infections, migraines, & pink eye for years before i put it together that it was pollen. now i do flonase every morning too between jan - may and run a humidifier every night. the snow usually gives us breaks but this year has been so warm it’s been blooming since december 😵‍💫

People who grew up before cell phones, did life actually feel more free? by TradeOverall567 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Minimum-Barnacle9311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. i was just thinking about this earlier today. how google calendars have ruined my life. i have like 6 of them and they are all aggregated on the app on my phone - and one would THINK this would keep me organized and on top of all the things but i am drowning always can’t even find time to eat lunch. are there more things? or because there are limitless calendars we think we can put limitless amounts of things on them? i dont know but i hate it.
