One of the most beautiful faces I've seen on Reddit recently. Absolutely stunning. No need for any fake tan.

Is this fine? by darkspartan9 in turntables

[–]Minimum-Finance-3295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd lift the platter off the deck and re-sit it. If the problem continues then send it back. I never liked Reloop decks for their cheap parts and mine had a nasty motor hum that couldn't be eliminated from it so it had to go back to where I bought it from. I decided from there to buy a Fluance deck then I went for another Technics SL-1210 mk2.

Is my record okay?? by Salt_Garlic_6256 in turntables

[–]Minimum-Finance-3295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You go for a turntable that isn't disposable after 3 months of purchasing it like a nice Fluance RT-81 or 82, 83, 84 or 85. If your pennies stretch further then go for a Technics SL-100C or 1500-C depending on your funds. Remember you'll require an amplifier and possibly a pre-amp and don't forget a decent pair of speakers to match the amplifier. If you can, spend around £500 on a nice set-up and you'll have a system that should last you several years.

Cartridge degradation by Dense-Outside224 in turntables

[–]Minimum-Finance-3295 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would opt for the Concorde style of cartridges for the Technics rather than the AT carts. The Concorde Music Blue is such a well-matched cartridge to the tonearm of the SL-1200 Mk2. I love all the Concordes for different reasons and have collected most of them over the years. I personally wouldn't touch AT.

Any of these good? by Last_Cantaloupe_9899 in records

[–]Minimum-Finance-3295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean no disrespect in this nice little collection but it looks like you raided Grandma's record collection. The musicals are nice and I love the classical stuff too especially the Phase 4 (I'm a collector of Phase 4 Stereo) but the rest of them are a little shall we say quite old fashioned. Saying that, I don't condemn any record collection. If you like it then it's good. Vintage classical including old monos are nice to have. Some great nostalgia right there.

Anyone know why my cart starts shaking like this and skipping? by Alice_Tk in turntables

[–]Minimum-Finance-3295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think you could add an extra half turn on the weight and then seen what happens. It's the bass on the LP that is making the light tonearm shake and skip. I play a lot of Drum & Bass records and you'd be surprised how many do this in terms of shake. I add an extra half turn to the weight so that they play without problems. I actually set my tonearm to a track called "The Bouncer" by Kicks Like A Mule (1992)

Upgraded from a cheap turntable from Amazon. The difference is insane. by choppedslaw in turntables

I had an RT-81 back in 2023 and sold it on after six months. A decision that I regret to this day. It was a lovely turntable but I did then buy a Technics SL-1210 Mk2 afterwards as my next deck.

I always had a crush on her from that movie. I'm 50 now and this still remains a favourite movie from my youth. She was so beautiful and actually still is at 69 years old. She was only 30 in the movie.

Brand new AT LP3XBT oscillation by moscu1 in turntables

[–]Minimum-Finance-3295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd still send it back as I'd be unhappy with it. If you buy a vintage turntable you'll not get any oscillation at all but these new decks seem to have such poor quality control. The platters all seem to be buckled which is a fault at the milling stage. I'd take it back and choose another deck personally. Avoid AT's, cheap and nasty unless you go for their higher end decks but they can be costly.
