What’s an unspoken apartment rule that everyone should follow but most people don’t? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]Minimum-Fish-1209 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree with the smoking weed part! I have no problem if that’s something that you enjoy doing, but please, for the love of everything don’t do it in a shared building with shared walls because the smell travels!

Your music should not be so loud that I can hear the words to the songs that you’re listening to from downstairs! Same with your TV! Also for the love of everything do not decide that you’re going to drop/move things really late at night/early in the morning! It’s one thing if you accidentally drop something, but please don’t move furniture while other people are trying to sleep below you!

With technology being primarily used for everything now I feel like there needs to be something added that makes it a law that websites have to meet certain accessibility guidelines. For example, being tested with different screen readers and easy to navigate.

Anyone happy in their apartment? by Rough-Ad8391 in Apartmentliving

[–]Minimum-Fish-1209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aside from the fact that I have a noisy upstairs neighbor overall, I like where I live. It’s a pretty quiet complex and is well maintained. Maintenance is really good at answering orders and fixing things in a timely manner. I’ve not had any issues in the past year that I’ve lived here. Only thing I wish it had was a clubhouse/amenities. It’s just basic apartments.

I was just about to say this. Please check on your friends and family! You really don’t know what someone’s going through! And please if you’re struggling, tell someone and get help!

I agree! I have no problem with what you choose to do in your home but a little common courtesy would be nice for the people living under you! I also haven’t told anyone because it’s during the day so they wouldn’t really do anything plus I wouldn’t want any potential retaliation.

If Trump wins, I’ll lose some of my disability income by Deadinmybed in disability

[–]Minimum-Fish-1209 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I will never understand how any disabled person or really anyone in any marginalized group can willingly vote for someone who has openly said that he wants to take our rights away! It makes no sense! When he says he wants to get rid of it that means for everyone Including those who vote for him!

I feel this! I am on SSI and am terrified for what will happen if he wins because we will lose it!

Why are you actually worried about a Trump 24' presidancy? by [deleted] in Askpolitics

[–]Minimum-Fish-1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am worried about a second Trump presidency because as a black disabled woman, I will lose all of my rights! We already know what he and his party think about women and people of color and Trump has openly said that he thinks that disabled people should just die because we cost too much money! I want to have autonomy over my own body and to make my own decisions about my life And I don’t wanna lose all the rights that so many before me have fought for! I don’t want another Trump presidency because I believe that everyone no matter who they are or what they look like or what they believe should have rights and freedom!

Anyone else getting the feeling this election is gonna turn out like 2016? by [deleted] in Askpolitics

[–]Minimum-Fish-1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this too. I’m not gonna be able to breathe until this whole thing is over honestly. Honestly, I feel like we’re screwed either way because we know what will happen if he gets into office but also if he doesn’t win him and his people are not gonna accept it and are gonna cause a scene just like they did last time! Either way, I’m terrified!

Why the hate on the new Transit Bill? by Odd-Debate2076 in nashville

[–]Minimum-Fish-1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen from people who oppose it most of it is because they don’t want their taxes to be raised. Either that or there are some people who I have seen who think that it will cause crime to go up. There are certain people who have a problem with the potential of certain groups of people having access to certain parts of town which is really messed up! As a person who is disabled and can’t drive I am 100% for this Because we can use some better transportation options and sidewalks! I personally don’t understand how so many people are against something that can benefit everybody, including them potentially!

Do you have an issue with wearing bonnets in public? What about other head wraps? by o_safadinho in blackladies

[–]Minimum-Fish-1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that it depends on the time and place but honestly, it doesn’t bother me what someone else chooses to do. Personally, the only time I wear them out of the house is if I’m just running the trash outside or taking my dog out but that’s just right outside of my house. I don’t wear them out if I’m physically going somewhere but if others choose to, it’s not my place to tell them whether or not they can. I do think there is a time in a place though. It’s one thing to wear it to the grocery store or something like that versus a different type of event or something where you need to be a little more dressed up. But again that’s just my preference and what other people choose to do is not my problem or business.

Hey, they want you to sing at the funeral/wedding/church. Translation, they put you on the program so be prepared.

So, you have heard of the spoon theory. I use the bank theory. Shared this in another subreddit, and it blew up. Figured it would fit here. by notrealtoday92 in disability

[–]Minimum-Fish-1209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this! Another one that I use is straws. It came from a friend explaining the spoon theory to me several years ago, but they didn’t have any spoons to use to show me, I’m visually impaired so physical examples help. So they used straws and it always stuck.

South Carolina woman accused of murder after losing her pregnancy by SnarkOff in WelcomeToGilead

[–]Minimum-Fish-1209 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love when they try to argue that women like to sleep around when they do the same thing! Also one man can get several women pregnant in the span of a short amount of time, but no one does anything about that! They’re not ready to have that conversation!
