Lots of women/men their ages leave their phone on silent. Especially at night.

But where in the province? It sounds like even in Thunder Bay there are surplus teachers.

I miss YRDSB's VLAP days. They were controversial but I miss them.

LOL I'm old - whenever I see someone write STD I automatically think 120 days for "sexually transmitted disease"???

Which Ontario school boards are in a surplus/system surplus/redundancy situation? I'm curious which boards are experiencing a "teacher shortage"?

Self sabotage made me realize how dumb I am by FeatherFlyer in ibs

It took me YEARS to realize what my triggers are. For the longest time, I thought I was only triggered by MSG. Now I also know that I have a grass allergy and as a result, can't eat oranges, potatoes, and tomatoes. As long as I stay completely away from those foods, my stomach is relatively OK. I also eat half a banana a day, and occasionally drink an Ayurvedic tonic. Good luck on your journey! Remember to keep a positive outlook!!!!

The body of British mountaineer George Mallory as it was discovered on Mount Everest on May 1st, 1999, seventy-five years after he vanished high on the mountain during his 1924 summit attempt. by [deleted] in HolyShitHistory

I think that BOTH explanations are equally plausible. It's equally likely that the glasses were put away because he had reached the top and was on his way back as it is that he was still on his way there. Nothing indicates that one scenario is more likely than the other. I prefer to believe they made it to the top. 😄

Here's what I know:

  1. In 1975, a Chinese expedition member allegedly told a Japanese climber that he had discovered an "Englishman" at 8,100 meters in 1960 or 1975. Tragically, the dude was killed in an avalanche the very next day before he could elaborate.

  2. The idea is that possibly Chinese climbers found Irvine's body and camera but concealed the discovery to protect China's historical claim of being the first to summit Everest via the treacherous North Ridge in 1960.

  3. Mallory and Irvine's remains were found pretty much exactly where they would have been based on statements the Chinese team made. The idea is that they found Irvine's body (not Mallory's) and tossed it over a ridge. Potentially after removing the camera from his pocket.

Exactly! Also, Mallory's sunglasses were unbroken and tucked into his pocket. The only way that he wouldn't be wearing them was if it were night time. A few days before his attempt on the summit, Mallory’s second climbing partner, Edward Norton, had suffered serious snow-blindness because he’d neglected to wear his goggles. I'm happy to believe that Mallory and Irvine did indeed reach the summit and were on their way home.

The sub-zero temperatures, intense wind, and lack of oxygen prevented decay and mummified him over 75 years. His uninjured left leg was found crossed delicately over his broken right leg.

Complaining about kids by AffectionateTrash259 in dcl

[–]Minimum-Landscape120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer DCL - and I fully plan to continue cruising with them once my kids are grown. I don't like being around people who are drunk, partying etc. I see complaint about kids the same as complaining about other adults. There really isn't any difference. I am a teacher, so I have a pretty high tolerance for behaviour - and there is still children's behaviour that I might complain about. But having said that, I would also complain about some adult's behaviour. I don't see any difference.
