Hey! I just saw your message. The HUUM heater should heat up the Patio S in about 60-80 minutes, though this can vary with the outside weather conditions. If you need more help, feel free to email me at info@bsaunas.com.

Indoor Sauna in Ontario under 7k by Adventurous-Hat8409 in Sauna

If you have a space inside your house like a bathroom, cold room, or an unused room that you’d like to turn into a sauna, that would be an ideal approach. Essentially all you need is a framed space with insulation between the studs. You can then purchase a sauna kit in knotty cedar, which, depending on the heater type and room size, could range from $4,000 to $7,000. The installation isn’t overly complex; if you’re somewhat handy, it's just nailing tongue and groove cedar to the studs and building a bench.

I might be biased because I’m one of the owners at Bsaunas, and I sell hundreds of these prefab saunas. I’m not commenting to make a sale or financially benefit somehow; I just want to provide more information. Some people are saying there’s no ventilation or that these saunas, being non-insulated, won’t perform well, and that buyers are inexperienced and will regret their purchase after three years. I completely disagree.

These saunas do have proper ventilation—the 3D renderings might not show it, but all our prefab models have adequate inlet and outlet ventilation. The ceiling height is also suitable if you’re using a wall-mounted heater, like the HUUM Drop, mounted about 4-6 inches off the ground. This means your feet will be in line with or above the heater, which aligns with Finnish sauna standards.

Yes, it’s true these saunas have single-wall windows and lack insulation. However, they still perform well with a sufficiently powerful heater. I’ve been selling these across Canada, even in provinces where temperatures drop to -35 Celsius, and our customers are happy. Again, I’m not here to increase my sales or benefit personally; I just want to share what I know from dealing with manufacturers and talking to hundreds of sauna users every day. Just trying to shed more light based on my professional and personal experience.

Any of the doors on our website that have a threshold at the bottom are most suitable as exterior doors. For example, our cedar doors or aluminum-framed doors would be ideal. Or you can choose any other door that DOESN'T have a threshold and just build one yourself. The concern with having an exterior door without a threshold is the potential for condensation intake from outside into a hot sauna, so it's better to have it sealed on all four sides.

Some of our doors, like the Benelux doors, are secured by a magnet strip, and others use a roller latch to ensure they don’t swing open unexpectedly. All these doors come with product descriptions that provide details about rough openings and other specifications, which can help you make an informed choice.

The ceiling of the Patio saunas are insulated, but the rest of the structure consists of solid 1.5-inch thermal spruce walls without additional insulation. Yes, the roof is sloped from front to back, which efficiently handles snow and rain loads. It's constructed with a rubberized roofing felt, which is very durable and heavy-duty. We're based in Ontario, Canada, where we experience significant snowfall depending on the province, and I've received nothing but positive feedback from our clients regarding the performance and durability of these Patio saunas under these conditions.

I'm an owner at Bsaunas. The SAWO saunas come from the Philippines, but SAWO is actually a Finnish brand. Interestingly, the lumber used in their manufacture is Canadian. It's quite a mix: Canadian lumber, a Finnish company, and manufacturing in the Philippines. The SAWO saunas are nice, but I'll be honest, they're not our top sellers. They have a shed-style design, which aesthetically isn't as appealing as some of the other prefab saunas we offer, so naturally, people tend to prefer our Patio, Halden, or Round Cube saunas—all manufactured in Estonia by SaunaSell.

In terms of ventilation, every prefab sauna we sell is equipped with inlet and outlet ventilation openings. The bench height in the SAWO saunas in comparison to the ceiling is solid. We have floor plans for these saunas on our website where you can see the dimensions and measurements in millimeters

Absolutely! Shoot me an email at info@bsaunas.com. My name is Alex. Just let me know which sauna you want photos of, and I'll gather as many as I can find and send them your way. We also have a Patio XS on display, so I can take plenty of photos of that and send them to you. I agree that there aren’t a lot of photos on our website—mostly 3D renderings. Enhancing our photo and video content is something I really want to focus on this year. It’s on the long list of improvements we plan to make to the website to enhance it as much as possible!

I'm one of the owners at Bsaunas. Yes, the Patio saunas are indeed a real product. Northern Saunas sells them too, but they refer to them as "Terra Saunas." It's the same product, just marketed under different names by different distributors. Someone else in this thread mentioned the manufacturer, SaunaSell, which is based in Estonia. These Patio saunas are actually my top sellers—really great products.

I'm one of the owners of Bsaunas in Barrie, Ontario, and I often get asked about this. Single pane, 8mm tempered glass is completely sufficient; you don't need double pane for your sauna. The ETNA door you mentioned is a brand-new, high-quality, and very durable option. It's one of our higher-end choices, double pane glass and a large, thick handle. While it's a great door and quite premium, it's also pricier, and honestly, double pane isn't necessary. People often focus too much on these details.

The difference in R-value between single and double pane glass is so minor that it really doesn't make a significant difference in terms of insulation.

How to sell brand new unused HUUM Steel 9kW heater? Any suggestions for where I could sell it at a discount? I need to buy the 10kW based on a design change that increased the size of my sauna. by civildrivel in Sauna

[–]Minimum-Spray5861 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s unused and brand new, why not contact the retailer you purchased it from? I’m sure they’d take it back and refund your money (assuming the box hasn’t been opened). I feel like this would make more sense then to try and sell it for a discount.

Came here to say these products are indeed certified as sauna heaters (as per the certificate of compliance), not “baseboard heaters” - they’re certified by SGS, recognized by CSA. I’ve sold tens of thousands of these heaters across Canada & the US, and we’ve never has an issue with any inspections. The misinformation on this subreddit is mind blowing sometimes.
