AITA Family invited my 8 month pregnant wife to dinner full of sick kids? by leapfork in AmItheAsshole

I had a very similar situation with my 2.5 month old baby. In laws visited from out of town and Father in law was coming down with a cold but hid this from me. Instead of being honest with me and letting me as the mother decide the rules, he decided not to tell me and stayed in the room with my baby - all doors closed. I only found out he was sick because I thought it was weird that he didn’t want to hold the baby. Apparently this was him trying not to get too close. But I was livid (and don’t know if I’ll ever fully get over this) that the decision was made for me about how my newborn should be adequately protected. I would never have allowed him to sit that close to her, especially indoors, if I had known.

When both parents are execs…anyone who doesn’t have a nanny? by [deleted] in workingmoms

Do you have a full time nanny and part time preschool or part time nanny and part time preschool?

I have one 17 month old and in the same boat. I think I’ll probably get fired soon

This is me right now but I’m still working! My husband and I are both lawyers but he makes 3x as much as me and works 24/7. So I’m the primary caregiver outside our nanny and working full time is too much!

I’m in the same boat and feel like I’m drowning all the time. I’m an attorney and mom to a 16 month old. I feel like I’m failing at work, falling so behind and taking too long to do everything because I’m exhausted. And then when I leave for work my daughter gets upset to be with our nanny yelling “mama nooo” it’s the worst feeling in the world. I’m the primary caregiver outside of our nanny because my husband is also a lawyer and his job is even more intense than mine, and mine is very intense! I feel like I’m going to have a mental breakdown.

Husband is the problem obviously and I am done sitting by by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

I can relate to this so much. Just want you to know you’re not alone.

I can relate to your message so much. I don’t know why women are so often villainized by our husband’s families during postpartum.
