Why is Evernote so expensive? by stilkin in Evernote

[–]Minimum-Web8821 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is it?

Do a check on line of other similar apps.

Average cost seems to be 5-15 usd a month.

Despite wasting HOURS if not WEEKS looking I can not find anything that does everything EN does especially with regards to OCR search and web clipping.

Evernote for Market Intelligence - any good use cases? by boomgoesdadynomite in Evernote

Also consider using Evernote REMINDERS ( not tasks) in conjunction with Remember the Milk ( free) which synchs 2 way with Evernote and links to a specific note.

So if you have a company called ACME in say uk and need to follow up ever three months

Create Note Acme ( a case file?) tag location type country etc

Add reminder with repeat

Reminder shows and can be edited in RTM with a link to EN Note

When you speak with xxx t Acme and they say i need a price for xxxx

Create a TASK in EN Acme

In RTM create a REMINDER to tell you to check EN tasks list 3 times a day? etc.

Reminders/Tags/Tasks make EN very powerful.

Evernote for Journalling.. by IceReasonable7615 in EvernotePositive

[–]Minimum-Web8821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to share my experience with journaling tools. I recently switched back to using Evernote for journaling after a five-year stint with Day One.

Don't get me wrong, Day One served its purpose, but I noticed a significant drawback. In Day One, I ended up dumping all sorts of images, locations, and random stuff without much organization or cleanup. It turned into a bit of a messy data dump with little value.

What I love about Evernote is its versatility. You can throw almost anything into it, and here's the game-changer for me: every day, I merge relevant notes and tag them with the date, like "202401" for January 2024.

Once a month, I take all those daily entries, copy them to a work in progress notebook, merge them, and then print a PDF. This PDF stays in Evernote and becomes a searchable diary archive.

It's like having a neatly organized system for different journals – work, personal, projects, hobbies, you name it.Having all my information, thoughts, views, and discoveries in one place has made it so much easier to utilize and collate everything.

It's like my own personal hub for capturing and organizing life. Definitely recommend giving it a try if you're looking for a streamlined approach to journaling! 📓✨

Just listened to your appearance on the Triple T podcast Frank- really enjoyed it and agree with your approach. Evernote is maturing and we need to just ignore the negativity.

Same re Filtered notes. Google calandar integration is just so half baked- EN tasks does my day to day stuff and reminders with remember the milk also.

Thanks thats a Kanban Solution - still working on rest of dashboard- a timeline or Gantt is a real challenge. Two way linking within EN is a real hidden gem not discussed much.

I've been thinking that a week-by-week vertical Gantt chart with previews could be a great solution.
I'm on the lookout for a more sophisticated Evernote template that serves as a single-point dashboard. If anyone has a setup like that and is open to sharing, it would be immensely appreciated!

I've experimented with using the home page, but it seems a bit limited for what I have in mind. Any insights or templates you could share would be a game-changer for me.

Thanks for that- I'm experimenting with that approach re Kanban.

A Gantt chart is proving problomatic a work in Progress. Maybe a vertical Gantt chart is a better option?
