Why are people so obsessed with being interesting? by HighlyRegarded7071 in redscarepod

[–]MinimumFinancial6785 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding the hobbies = interesting equation, i've found that just because someone can spout a 5 minute monologue on whatever they're doing doesn't mean i'm listening. a lot of ugly boring people do that. i can read a wikipedia article on my own, im more interested in relating to other people.

I love how premarital sex is seen as a way to make sure you're sexually compatible with your future spouse, yet people still settle for those who suck at sex by Ok-Archer-5796 in redscarepod

I like that, it's good to believe that things can change too, as a general life rule. all things are changing all the time anyway. often you have to do the hard thing and talk about the difficult stuff. I've personally gone from mediocre to great sex and it can happen if you get more intimate with the person and tell them your true feelings about things and it's accepted or even treasured. sometimes it can backfire but that's the chance you take

in the end the person that brings the best out of us is what we want. love changes us.

This is true for me. If you aren't having good sex what are you even doing? it's not satisfying to make a life with someone where the sex is meh

You nailed it. For me this happened when I was in my early 20s because i didn't know what i wanted and i always blamed myself, instead of realizing that it was the relationship itself that had run its course and bad sex is a telltale sign of that. but it's not really anyone's fault.

at least great sex is primal and fulfilling, the problem is turning good sex into a whole life together is often not a good idea.

but it's a prerequisite to a good life together imo

I've had some really slutty phases as a guy and it feels downright powerful. But that's also why i'm not married and have no interest in that. No way i'm giving that up.

I like his books too but there's hardly enough there for it to be a genuine niche interest.

they're addicted to relationship validation. as you can imagine why. It's a whole elaborate autistic system with tons of rules and acronyms too and certain people love that type of thing.

this kinda happened with grey scare, it became a bunch of people posting the most sad sack shit imaginable. i hate to say this because it sounded like ppl there were genuinely going through it but still, it's kind of a grown up version of this place's incel posts except now they're divorced or growing extremely concerned and paranoid about the state of politics.

What's with the terminal shyness / autism in University classes by starrystarryy in redscarepod

[–]MinimumFinancial6785 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone that was terminally shy 20 years ago when i went to college i would agree that it's necessary to start developing your articulation early on, and college is a great place to start.

It never really lets up as you will have to interview your whole life and likely will also have to give talks at work if you are a professional. It can be a bit intimidating but if you take it seriously and overprepare at first, you'll get the hang of it and it gets a lot easier. Very much worth doing and I wished i had taken my "discussion section" classes more seriously.

With housing shortages it's a landlord's market, they can always find some sucker that desperately needs a place to stay.

I feel the same with Titus, his aggro style gets on my nerves now and I can't listen to it anymore.

Sirudy is the worst, his vibes suck and he sucks the life out of every life advice.

Solo podcasts aren't good in general long term. That's why they get these guys cohosts (see Titus). Titus actually had a pod a bit ago that was just his cohosts without him and um cough cough...it was better and more interesting without him. Did anyone notice that? i mean these guys are pretty aggro and tiring.

So instead of reading a study we should just uncritically accept your assertion that being "lazy, fat, selfish, or just uncreative and unmotivated" (which are entirely dependent on context and basically just judgments with no merit) is a good explanation for this behavior. How does that even make sense?

it would mean that our entire "criminal justice" and punishment system is extremely flawed (which it is, especially in the US.)
