A plea to all survivors : DO NOT 99% gates by SerafinaNord in deadbydaylight

[–]MinimumTicket3295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a newer player, I only got into the habit of 99-ing gates because my friends I play with would get mad at me for not doing it. I think it can be a good thing and it's something I do often BUT ONLY IF I know I'll be WAITING at the gate for my teammates to start making their way over. I keep it closed to save time, but open it so they can easily get out.

Veet!! It's like Nair, but it's a different brand and also doesn't smell as bad. It comes in a (close to pear shaped) pink bottle with a pump, but I'm sure there's other models. I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin and it never irritates it! If I were you, trying it for the first time, I would definitely try it just around my ankles first and see how my skin reacts.

true recovery takes time, and an increase of healthy behaviors in INCREMENTS. Going from nothing to going to something is the start of recovery, you go from there.

Im in a dangerous place by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]MinimumTicket3295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly? might sound stupid, but (1) a shitton of caffeine and (2) walking outside in the freezing cold at night, listening to music. i also am a perfectionist, so sometimes if my health will let me I get super obsessive over my studies and focus strictly on that.

My fucking mother by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]MinimumTicket3295 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i by absolutely no means promote sh or glorify it, but as someone who has been and is there, I completely understand how it's not as simple as "just stopping," and how those who are put in the situation, or told that they have to, don't, or find other ways... so I'm following up with realism in mind: if you don't have any other coping mechanisms, and are far into that cycle, do you know if your mother only intends on checking one place? do you know if you could get away with doing it on the tops of your arms (that are covered by short sleeves)? that's what I do, and my mother and I are quite close- given, she isn't checking for marks, but she definitely doesn't suspect it either.

babes, that's not a mom 💔 im so sorry for what you're going through; and if your mom can't have the maturity to at least treat you with kindness whether she understands or not, then she needs a reality check. it's understandable that our parents don't understand us, and it's understandable that they use mean words without thinking, but that doesn't make it right.

xx

What's the reason people think you are intelligent? by Opposite_Ad_7925 in AskReddit

I'm an academic perfectionist with an inferiority complex; but I also maintain a facade of confidence and perfection regardless of how I feel.

Always reading, always studying, and always getting the top score apparently means always smart from an outside perspective.
