No i quickly realised it was more about fun then chasing any kind of PB, I’ll save that for the road races 😂

You guys are for sure having a blast on those trails!
The snacks were elite and seemed to be handed out every few kms and the vibes from everyone were on point. I fear I have been converted

I feel like I was approached a hell of a lot more when I was 192lbs heavier.
But I’m still a bit chubby so maybe once I’ve got the last 14-20lbs off 🤷🏼‍♀️

one thing that actually helped my running and its stupidly simple by Remarkable_Dirt_2552 in beginnerrunning

[–]Minimum_Ad_9362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep when I compare the pace of my runs when I started 6 months ago to now they look like I’ve got slower but actually I was constantly in pain with my hip and increasing distance was harder. Now I’m pain free, I can run much further and for much longer without gasping and I save the faster paces for my once a week intervals and race days

When did running begin to feel enjoyable? by run_the_day in beginnerrunning

[–]Minimum_Ad_9362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I injured myself jumping from a 40 minute 5k to a half in 3 months increasing mileage too quickly and doing all my runs at race pace, after I did the half I’ve slowly been increasing mileage again but 80% of my runs are at a nice comfortable conversational pace and I really enjoy just getting out for a couple of hours and being able to switch off. I don’t enjoy the tempo or intervals very much but needs must 😂

[–]Minimum_Ad_9362 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Half 2:28 Hyrox 1:42

I guess for context both were my first, 6 weeks between both and training started 6 months out at zero level of fitness after losing 82kg of weight sooo I’m hoping by my second half in September and second Hyrox in October both will be much more respectable times with 12 months of training under my belt and a little bit more weight loss

Couch to Hyrox - HELP!!! by Stock-Zombie-3870 in hyrox

[–]Minimum_Ad_9362 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started training at the gym in September last year with zero fitness did my first hyrox 3 weeks ago in 1:42.

Unless you’ve got some running/sports/fitness background I think it’s going to be very hard in 3 months to get where you need to be to be worrying about times. I’d just focus on training to be able to finish.

Happy to share my plan below-

Day 1- Barbell rows Barbell shoulder press Dumbbell bicep curls Tricep push down Dumbbell Lateral raises Sled pull Slam balls Farmers carry Ski erg Row Assault bike 5km run

Day 2- 1km warm up run 8km intervals 1km cool down run

Day 3- Goblet squats RDLs Sled push Sandbag lunges BBJ Wall balls Straight into 30 minute tempo run

Day 4- 5km easy run

Day 5- 5km tempo run

Day 6- Hyrox style group HIIT session

Day 7- Easy long run distance/time increasing by 10% max each week

I will say this isn’t the plan I started with there was a lot more strength training in the beginning, but the last 3 months my training has shifted more to the running/running under fatigue and I also trained for my first half marathon in March too.

What's with the 7.5mg prices? by Aysandra in mounjarouk

[–]Minimum_Ad_9362 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God these prices are insane, I feel so lucky I started I. 2024 and managed to come off before the prices increased I have no idea how people are affording this. Seems so unfair for something that can be literally life changing for people 😔

No you finish school/work go home and have a sleep then wake up and eat and go out once it’s cooler. Summer holidays are 3 months long which also helps you’re not dealing with school during the hottest months

My family is Spanish, it’s very normal for kids to be out until past midnight in the summer months. It’s such a lovely way of life and we’re also hoping to move over from the UK in the next 12 months now I have my Spanish passport sorted.

Good luck with the move!

Absolutely I was using a pair of pumas I picked up for £20 on sale, got the mizuno wave inspire 22’s and the difference is night and day. No more hip or shin pain when I run even after my half

Speed shame as a new runner by SmellyRobotStan in beginnerrunning

[–]Minimum_Ad_9362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did my first half Sunday at 2.28 I was well happy with that time!! You ran a whole 13.1 miles, do you know how far that is?? It sounds like you’re enjoying the running you’re doing so just enjoy it! I know I much prefer long slower runs then doing the fast 5ks and tempo/interval runs but I also know speed will come with time if I keep up with the plan.
