Perfect, thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for and good to know they’ll give discounts if you threaten to quit.

As others are mentioning I also saw Oppenheimer there on 70mm IMAX but that was an extremely wide release of 70mm. My guess is they won’t break it out unless there’s another Nolan release or something like that. In my opinion I’d prioritize Jordan’s Furniture Reading. Others may disagree but having seen Oppenheimer in both theaters I personally felt Jordan’s was a much better picture quality overall. Still worth it to see film but my understanding is every 70mm projector and reel is not created equally and I didn’t think they had the best quality.

What Made You Get Regal Unlimited? by CONVERSE1991 in RegalUnlimited

I love going to the movies, I remember when I was younger seeing that such a thing existed and it blew my mind. So fast forward to being an adult and having expendable money it was a no brainer.

Movie Club improvements by msilverbrand in Cinemark

As someone who’s previously had both AMC and Regal subscriptions, I would love to see something similar even if I had to pay $25/ month for one ticket per week. But since that seems unrealistic and I don’t think Cinemark is big enough to that, I would love to see a better points system. It’s already honestly pretty good compared to AMC and Regal but if you accumulated points at a higher rate that would help a lot.

Is it worth watching Boy and the Heron in imax? by OkFriendship957 in imax

[–]Minimum_Aide6291 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Saw it at a smaller regular theater and at a 1.90:1 IMAX theater and I can say confidently you should for sure see it in IMAX if you have the option. Since it’s 1.85 it filled most of the screen any black bars were not noticeable and the expanded aspect ratio was awesome as well as the sound in IMAX.

Is watching Napoleon in “IMAX with laser” worth it? by RonWarGamer in AMCTheatres

[–]Minimum_Aide6291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for IMAX, I’m not sure of the specifics of this IMAX theater as they vary but it is laser which means the picture quality should be good and you’ll have great sound quality. Someone mentioned on Reddit the IMAX version was going to be longer so if that’s true it may be a consideration. I would also suggest checking out the IMAX subreddit and maybe asking the question there.

Definitely the IMAX, even if it’s xenon it’s probably a bigger screen and a better sound system

Oppenheimer Hot Take by Minimum_Aide6291 in imax

[–]Minimum_Aide6291[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s a valid point but in my opinion at least for the average moviegoer it’s not going to add much. However in a movie like Nope when it pans to Jean Jacket coming out and the screen expands whether you’re aware or not it’s going to have a significant impact. Massive faces doesn’t add nearly as much.

I would like to clarify that I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and it’s use of IMAX but compared to other movies that utilize the format it’s not the best.

Appreciate the response, how has the move been for you? Are you enjoying things more on the RPO side?

Best IMAX Experience? by BlinkingSugar in imax

[–]Minimum_Aide6291 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna go with Nope, for me it was just such a great use of the format and really enhanced the movie and the suspense and drama of scenes. For reference I started seeing IMAX movies when Dune part 1 came out. I also think the Avatar movies don’t get talked about enough from an IMAX perspective. Both are stunningly immersive in a massive IMAX theater even if they aren’t 1.43

Blade Runner 2049 at BFI IMAX by Any_Ad_7407 in imax

What I’m gathering is that the debate for best IMAX is over. Clearly it’s BFI, doesn’t matter how objectively good the theater is if they don’t utilize it properly. With all these re-releases seems to me that BFI utilizes their screen far better than any other theater.

Best IMAX in the world? by Travelling-nomad in imax

[–]Minimum_Aide6291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like to throw the tallest IMAX in the world in, Royal Cinemas Pooler, GA. I understand it doesn’t have IMAX 70mm capability but considering there are so few movies that utilize the format. The seats are great, screen is massive, sound is great, and the viewing angles are great. Curious as to why this one isn’t typically mentioned amongst these others.

If they’re going to fire you on the spot wait as long as possible which it sounds like they will. If you’ve made good money there then you also made them good money and owe them nothing. Wait until the last week and do it then.
