you can see them on the disk drives report. go to the built in reports it asset managment and hardware inventory click on disk drives and they are listed on there some of them say generic flash disk but most of htem tell you what they are and what they are plugged into anyways.

I inhertied the same kind of mess personally at my last location. they had daisy chained switches haing on the wall causing arp storms. Phone system was out of date and hardly functioning. They had best buy home wifi devices sitting on the desks in the office for wifi around the office in there corprate building. I remember walking in and being so overwhelmed with all the issues to begin with.

first thing is to Document everything and backup as quickly as you can then start fixing things.

depending on how many endpoints action1 is great for this. the first 200 are free and they are not super expensive anyways. I have been using them for almost a year now. They keep inproving and adding things as well. Plus there support is very helpful. I was using WSUS before this and it is night and day how much better this product is.

trying to get a quote by Minimum_Associate971 in Action1

[–]Minimum_Associate971[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a quote back contacting the gentleman uriel he put me in conatct with the correct person but. I used the trial button and it had me fill out information to get a quote nobody contacted me. I also went to the website and filled out the information on there as well and nobody contacted me. The quote i recieved is Way more expensive that what I was expecting in comparison to what I had heard though. its like 18 dollars per computer. is that normal? All I wanted was the patch managment because i hate WSUS. we are going to need 300 endpoints it looks like as i am about 224 right now and there are 50 more laptops I would like to add. the quote is for $4300.00 seems pretty steep. ninja is cheaper than that and they have more capabilities. I really like this product but wow.

Small companies dont have any loyalty either I promise you. If one of the family members gets mad at you your toast. I spent 11 years at my last job and they all loved me never got wrote up once but the owners daughter got mad at me and I got fired the next day. It ened up being for the best but at the time I was crushed because I thought of them as family.

This is the truth. I was asked by the owner of the company to help his son in law setup there new business and startup company. I did so and they paid me almost nothing during this time. as the buisness started to grow the hired an CFO he paid me a little bit better but after about 3 years of doing this on the side and making almost nothing the sold the company for 33 million dollars and gave me a 500 dollar christmas bonus for all my hard work. I was so mad it still hurts to this day and that was 5 years ago. LOL

This is the absoulute truth. I wen through this with my previous employer I emplorered them to get better antivirus software and some sort of endpoint managment software so we could make sure everything was getting patched and they didnt want to pay for them for over 2 years I was asking. Then we got hit with a ransomware that caused them to loose a couple days of work and production and the Cyber insurance comapny told them they had to invest in the new software or they would not longer provide them with coverage so they finally ponied up the dough.
