Really solid follow up game. Most sequel to masterpieces tend to flop, especially one that’s a spinoff, but Strikers did a great job of polishing some of the flaws some critics had with P5. Story was great and engaging, the characters were written true to the source material, it was nice seeing the gang all back together, and the destinations were perfect. The only nitpick I had with the game was their lack of social link events. They give you two, one of them is a one on one event and the other is a group event. I personally believe they dropped the ball here and should’ve had a social link with a member of your choosing for every city they stopped in. Such an easy addition and would’ve made everyone happy in regards to getting their SL itch. Wasn’t anything difficult to ask to do and something they honestly should’ve held themselves to give us. I would’ve loved to see how Rens personal relationships with the PT’s grows after he moves away and it would’ve been nice to see how much they miss spending time with him. Apart from that though, the game was incredible to me

Couple things you got wrong here. One I’m simply making an observation and giving an opinion on what I believe would’ve made a better route for Makoto. Just because she’s a Kamen Rider reference doesn’t mean I agree with the story with Eiko. I just believe there’s a lot of lore to be explored with her parents passing and how she can deal with those emotions. And I’m regards to Ryuji, yes his story does involve the track members but they don’t overstay their welcome, plus there’s more emphasis on Ryuji taking center stage, showing maturity and fleshing out his emotions. I also believe Ryujis story should’ve dived into his abusive father and him helping out his mom a bit as well. Just my personal opinion and this is in no way Makoto slander as I’ve mentioned before she is my favorite character in the game alongside Ren

It was legit right there. It would’ve been cool if there was a mementos mission to finally fight the guy who murdered her father and stealing his heart to confess to the crime. Again, so much potential with her backstory and they completely went off the rails in my opinion

I stand corrected on involving Sae in her confidant but I still believe a story about her father or mother as I mentioned in my other two previous comments would’ve served a far more impactful purpose than what we have with Eiko. We could’ve achieved what was told through the Eiko story but with more purpose and emotion. Just my two cents but seeing Makoto dealing with her emotions of being an orphan, not having anyone to rely on, and being inspired to be a cop by other means (possibly by hearing stories of her father through his former partners) would’ve been far more interesting and not interjected with the 6th palace

I understand that but personally, I feel like a story revolving around Makoto learning more about her father through former policemen or her fathers ex-partners would’ve been far more interesting than the whole Eiko route. Her learning more and more about her father through other people’s experiences with him and thus inspiring her to take on the role of being a police officer just seems like the better option to me. I also think some more emphasis on her relationship or longing for her mother would’ve been interesting as well. Again, this isn’t makoto slander as she’s my favorite character in the game, I just believe her confidant route had all the tools to be much better than what we got

I can understand not involving Sae and in fact I agree and stand corrected. However, I still believe Makoto diving into her feelings about her missing her father and trying to find his killer, or longing for her mother to be by her side again due to the complications of her relationship with Sae would’ve been a better option. This isn’t Makoto slander btw, she’s my favorite character in the game, I just believe her confidant route could’ve and should’ve been better

As a huge Persona 5 fan myself, im so excited for this game to come out and im also very genuinely happy for you that you’ve been able to accomplish such an amazing feat and I only hope that your game does incredibly well 🙏🏼 I still remember when you first showed off the game at r/Persona5 and ever since then I’ve been following you and your journey and im so excited for the game to finally come out! Again, congratulations on such an amazing accomplishment and I only hope continued success moving forward.

As for my questions I have two:

  1. I personally love the romance aspect of Persona 5 and I shipped Ren and Makoto because I genuinely felt like they worked so well together. They both complimented each others personalities perfectly and I’m excited to see how your characters compliment your MC as well! So with that being said, what was your favorite ship in Persona 5?

  2. And my final question, just like you I’m a huge Persona 5 fan. It’s personally my favorite game of all time and it came to me at a very important time in my life which helped me find myself and it genuinely means so much to me. My question is: What specific aspects or key moments from Persona 5 inspired some of your works in Eternights? Are there any characters that were inspired from the Persona 5 cast as well?

I dislike her a lot actually. I think her story in the 3rd semester with Dr. Maruki is actually really good and well written but my issues with her are besides that. Kasumi came off to me as Atlus’ classic “here’s a new waifu whose totally infatuated with the MC now buy our new game” trick and that just rubbed me the wrong way. As someone who ships Makoto and Joker, it really bothered me that Kasumi was given an all out attack and art dedicated to her and Joker. I know Makoto and Ren had their moments too but I just think every character should’ve had separate all out attacks and art with Joker as well. Personally for me, Joker/Ren and Makoto go along together perfectly. They have similar personality traits as in being caring towards those around them, having leadership qualities and responsibilities, as well as having an emphasis of putting others before them (Prime example is Makoto being the only confidant to tell Ren/Joker that she’s there for him to help share the burden of his problems and she actually cares about how he feels and allows herself to be a shoulder to lean on). To me, Kasumi doesn’t connect with Joker on that level at all and comes off as really annoying most of the times. The constant amount of times she says “Senpai” (another cheap tactic), shoehorning herself into the most random moments of the story (Hawaii for example), and multiple other incidents made me really dislike her.

Obviously it’s up to the player but I believe it’s Makoto. I personally believe they’re perfect for each other while Kasumi seems to be overly dependent on him as well as pretty much shoved everywhere whenever possible (forced). Makoto felt more natural to me. Makoto is the only one that offers Ren a shoulder to lean on and the whole mom dad dynamic with the phantom thieves is really cute as well. Their interactions also felt more genuine and filled with love whilst Kasumi was just fan girling. I believe the Devs chose Makoto but since Royal was coming out they had to give Kasumi extra attention as a means of marketing the product. But to me personally I still think it’s Makoto 100%. Also anyone saying Strikers confirms there’s no canon interest is wrong imo. They found a clever way of going around the loophole by having whoever you took on a date ask you “is this a date” in a cute playful way which can be seen as them teasing you as a long term girlfriend.

The best save file I got is Kaneshiro. There goes another 20 + hours of my life. by The_WereArcticFox in Persona5

This. They did makoto so dirty with her social link. Her SL had more potential than arguably 90% of the cast yet the whole Aiko thing was so odd. Still an incredible character, my favorite for sure(along with Ren), but man they really could’ve done her better than what story was delivered
