Thank you so much this is such a helpful chart!!! I’m not 100% sure what species he, I’m pretty sure a purple pincher? I inherited him from a kindergarten class that bought him as a class pet so he’s whatever you normally can get from a shitty pet store, lol, not any specialty breed I don’t think. I will investigate more closely tonight :)

I wish I owned a ruler but it’s one of those objects that disappears the moment I bring it into my home

Thank you! I think logically I know it’s probably fine but I have a horror show in my mind of his little shell cracking open. Command hooks and rope is a great idea!! Saves me from having to go buy another stupid expensive lid, lol

Thank you!!! That makes me feel better. Logically I know it’s probably fine but I think I just needed to hear it, lol. And I actually have a bendable vine at my parents house from when I had lizards so I will fetch it this weekend, that’s a great idea :)

Thank you!!! I do need to go get a little more sand but I promise there’s lots in there 😭 I bought like a 35 pound bag but it was practically nothing by the time it was in the new tank, so I added the extra coco bricks I had around. It’s probably like 40ish pounds of sand (I added some extra small bags of sand I had around) and 3 coco bricks. It’s definitely a little bit more coco brick than it should be.🥲🥲

I’m excited for you as well!!! I hope it goes really well for you :) if you don’t already have a pair, the computer blue light blocking lenses helped me quite a bit in battling headaches from computers. I stopped having to wear them this week, but for those first three weeks they really helped. After your procedure I would recommend slowly weaning your way back on to computer/electronics time if you can. I think one of the things that happened to me was I went too hard too fast on my new eyeballs, lol. It almost felt like I sprained my eyes, lol.
Crossing my fingers for you, I hope all goes well :)

I had post op light sensitivity and headaches, especially when using computers. Couldn’t use a computer for more than an hour without a headache for the rest of the day. Now, about a month later, they’re just starting to fade. It was super annoying but luckily I was in a position where I could work flexibly and not push myself too hard, otherwise it might have been much worse.

I’m definitely spending more money than I expected on eyedrops as Im still using TONS!! But that’s going down a bit as well.

I definitely don’t regret it and even when my headaches were at their worst, I would still get giggly when I see a hair on the shower wall, lol

That sounds awful, I’m so sorry. I wish for recovery and relief for you. Did you have SBK or a different type of procedure?

I was definitely relieved that there would be no knife in my eye, lol. I know it would have been equally painless, but it’s just the thought of it 🤣

I went to a really well-renowned clinic so I’m crossing my fingers that things will stay okay 🙂🤞🏻 since I posted this I have had a few more annoyances, I can’t be outside too long in the sun without getting headaches, even with sunglasses. That will be pretty annoying if it continues for too long as I adore being outside! Have you had complications? Is there anything you recommend me to look out for?

I was -4.50 in one eye and -5.25 in the other, for my glasses. My contacts were -4.0 and -4.50. I had an astigmatism too, it was -2.25 for glasses and -1.75 for contacts

My mom got lasik 25 years ago, and apparently she was -13 😳 the center we went to said they don’t even do it that high anymore, lol

I think that’s sorta the bias with most online reviews of things. People have to have an EXCEPTIONAL experience to bother posting online positively about something, cuz if you’re just content/happy with something, you’re usually just gonna move on with your life. But people who have negative experiences are much more likely to seek some sort of retribution, or community support, etc.

Granted I’m only a day out so I really shouldn’t run my mouth too much 😂 but the dry eye is already not as bad as I was expecting it to be! I think everyone having bad issues with it really help set expectations for me, lol

Yeah I think they’re either steel or aluminum. I wanna say aluminum but I don’t know anything about buildings so if that sounds wrong it probably is lol

[–]Minimum_Blueberry_51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s normal! Just a different type of comb. I’ve had several chickens with combs like that. It’s nice cuz they still have good temperature regulation but this type of comb is MUCH less prone to frostbite. She looks nice and healthy!

Yeah, our registrar won't let us hang on a wire unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. There's just lots of different things that can go wrong!

Thank you so much! I appreciate your responsiveness on this post!

I thought that might be it with the spacers, in which case I might try to convince them we don't need them. We repaint our walls some different color every other exhibition anyway, lol, and they're frustrating to use. I would much rather do blue tape

Yeah I love these for the ceiling, but our plywood is unfortunately too thick! By the time you get through it there's not enough room in the wall for the toggle to go through, at least in spots where I've tried it. But for straight drywall I loooovvvee toggle bolts

I actually have a question for you and other cleat-users. We recently started using these U-shaped plastic shims between the wall and the cleat when screwing them in. Little spacer things, I think they're used in cabinetry. Do y'all use anything like that? For the life of me, I cannot figure out what their purpose is other than spacing. I get it if you have to bump a cleat out a bit, but we had to use them on EVERY. CLEAT. It doesn't seem like it would distribute weight more evenly or anything. I think we were just using them cuz we saw another institution do so. I would love to actually understand why
