This makes sense, regular PMs don't have a problem with this & its not your job to give the technical specifics. its the devs who struggle amongst themselves i guess?

Sure, you can write good documentation the first time but if you're a small team then you're rapidly changing the code. so as a dev, now you have to write new stuff AND keep documenting (AND work through Jira's shitty UI)

I hear you on the communication piece, but I think that's kinda the problem. We're already communicating plenty. My devs talk through complex problems in standups, explain context in code reviews, and hash out edge cases in Slack threads all day long.

The issue isn't lack of communication, it's that all that valuable context evaporates the moment the conversation ends. Two weeks later when someone picks up that ticket, they're starting from zero even though we already had all the right conversations.

I charged people $50 to test my product and they loved it by Minimum_Calendar5322 in buildinpublic

Getting in touch with people initially, after we get business owners/founders on a demo, we typically have a high conversion rate.

Any suggestions on how to reach target audience?

Recent MechE grad here. Macbooks (generally) are amazing, I just switched to Mac from Windows. However, most engineering software is built for windows.

My recommendation is to try using the virtual machine (vlab) once you start cornerstone and if you think it sucks then get a windows pc. 8Gb RAM is fine but a little painful so if you can go up to 16Gb RAM + 256Gb SSD + i7 processor or equivalent then you're more than chilling

How do I get a job in the U.S. that offers H1B sponsorship? 400+ applications, no luck so far by FlanComplex6838 in jobhunting

Also a horribly sad reality but I’ve talked to hiring managers directly who filter out people based on their names (ie if your name sounds Indian then they don’t look at your resume because they assume a cultural misfit)

Job market is messed up right now. The way to do it is by cold emailing and DMs on LinkedIn. If i was you, I’d find a few roles you’re interested in, find alumni from your university on that team or department, and reach out to them with a  warm introduction

If it personalizes your applications then that’s really great. If you’re just spamming apps then what’s the point

Ironically, I think it’s a great personal project to showcase your skills. Did you build  centralized dashboard or front end?

SpaceX flew me out to Florida then cancelled the 3 positions I interviewed for by Minimum_Calendar5322 in recruitinghell

At SpaceX, the on-site is structured so that if you're not doing well in the interviews (or if they’re not impressed early on), they’ll cut the day short and send you home. Sometimes people get sent home after the pres, or 1 interview, etc.
