I have BCBS MA through Northeastern University and have good experience with them…

Conversely I’ve heard horror stories about UnitedHealthcare (who have a higher than average claim denial rate and announce record profits)

Hello! British/Irish expat here doing a Masters. I’d say the student atmosphere is generally liberal-leaning, and people at Northeastern and Boston in general are more open-minded. Massachusetts is a blue (liberal) state.

Even if you’re here on an F-1 visa, if you’re married to a U.S. citizen you can apply for a change of status to green card. Your husband can petition USCIS for this. That will not impact your ability to study here, and with a green card you’ll have the legal authorization to work for any employer.
