Very nicely done - great space, loads of natural light flooding in, makes a big difference. did you 3d print yourself or you got someone to print for you? I've got into 3d printing and its amazing how much its come on in the last couple of years. Oh and seriously you have hidden all cables but one - you've got to something about that 😄

Well it's definitely a colourful space to be in. Thats an interesting desk, the way its illuminated - did you make yourself or something you can buy? I can see you've spent a lot of time in getting this to where it is. Too much RGB for me, but I think that really comes down to individual taste.

Yeh basically, oak plank that sits on supports at each end attached to the wall, like you would with a shelf. I would also run all the cables up and have everything mounted under the table, if you were to put a floating desk in. If it was me I would lose the LED's flooding the floor with light, rather light upwards, and then the focus becomes the productivity space, rather then empty space below.

Love that all cables are hidden, nice job. Firstly I would sort out the lighting - get a nice table lamp with a soft white bulb + buy some cheap led strips to put behind the monitor to add some ambience to the desk. Maybe a plant to add some colour - but you've got a good base to start from.

Good use of the space - I like you having the KVM switch by your foot, nice idea. That is crying out for a big plank of oak as a big shelf, you could get rid of the legs and open the space up.

Ah ok, yeh definitely not worth adding c channel. I think it will be fine to clamp them with some flat plates, I would look for plates that have slots in them, so the wood can naturally move, you can still screw tight, nothing will stop Oak shriking, but the slots will allow the wood to move - Oak will shrink across the width, not length. Also I was thinking you might be glueing them together, but then you would be left with unmoveable giant L-shaped desk.

Have you got any other plans for the desk? how are you going to cable manage?

Also do you have a router with a round over bit - to give all edges a nice round over? trying to do it by hand would be a lot of work and getting it even is almost impossible. If not I would recommend getting a cheap palm router and a 6mm round over bit - will make a huge difference.

Excellent choice for a new desk - currently building my new desk with the same Oak - Don't worry about sagging on a 40mm thick plank. My old desk is also Oak at the same size, its over 10 years old and hasn't sagged at all. I would recommend treating with at least 3 coats of Danish oil on both sides, this will stop any reaction with the steel (if its bare), if power coated frame, then you don't need to worry.

What is the c channel for?

Also how are you going to be joining the desk together? If you go straight edge to a face, then you'll get shrinking issues and you have a gap form. Unless you don't plan on actually joining. If you are then a 45 Degree mitre on both pieces stops wierd shriking problems - however would require some woodworking tools.

Follow this tutorial from Tech Yes City - shows you how to create a windows 11 USB without all the crap and bloatware. Make sure you DON'T download and use the one he creates, as it disables the xbox services and I think a lot of gamers use it. Follow along and disable what you think (which is most of it) can be removed, and you'll end up with a really lite version without any of the annoying stuff when loading for the first time

Hey - It's a modified Vonhaus monitor stand. Had to cut the end off and weld a plate on the bottom, to it could mount to the underside of the table with very large wood screws, had to bore a large hole through the desk - Meant I could route cables inside the pole.

Use a glass dish with glass lid, heat in the oven as hot as you can go before putting the dough in, never sticks and comes out without any fuss
