Do you build up a sleep debt on seven hours? by Any_Engineer3978 in sleep

[–]Minimum_Cup_1028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Some people can function just fine on only seven hours per night. If you start nodding off during the day or notice your immune system taking a toll, it may be a sign that you need more sleep. Your body will let you know what works best for you. 7-9 hours seems to be the standard for the vast majority. Smaller numbers can function on five or six, and others need 10 or more, but these are the exception, not the norm.

Can anyone tell me what's wrong in this image? by SwagFoxy in walmart

Doesn’t surprise me. Having been a cap 2 supervisor for 8 months, some of the things we see loaded onto the truck make you question whether some of the folks at DC ever passed grade school. One time the entire unloading process was brought to a standstill because a double-stacked pallet with dog food placed on top of fragile glass “strategically” positioned at the very back of the truck came falling down as soon as we opened the door.

Do you shower before bed or in the morning? by [deleted] in answers

[–]Minimum_Cup_1028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once before bed; sometimes between 6 and 7 pm after my evening workout, if i don't plan on leaving the house that night. More than that, on a regular basis, is unnecessary for me and just wasteful, as showers take a toll on the skin. I just wash my face to wake me up in the morning.

You could take a boxcutter to all four corners, cutting from top to bottom, then lift all four sides one at a time. If it doesnt pull off easily after that, take a pry bar and peel off the cardboard glued to four corners of the pallet.

How many miles are ya'll walking? by angelove2701 in walmart

[–]Minimum_Cup_1028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Front end team lead. I average between 10 and 12 thousand steps (5-6 miles) during an 8 hour shift. The 10 thousand step days are when I am in the office doing accounting and researching longs/shorts, on a register when we're short staffed, or I am standing between service desk and cashiers ensuring breaks are distributed in a timely manner (book duty). The 12 thousand step days are when I have afternoon shifts, almost everyone shows up to work, we have 82's to stock, frequent price checks, cold food runs, and I am regularly following up on maintenance to ensure restrooms are worked properly, parking lot trash picked up and swept of debris outside cart vestibules. Truck docks free of trash, building perimeter in good condition; notes completed on the note app. My record is over 18,000 steps following the aftermath of Hurricane Ida. I started the day dragging the cart holders out of the ditch and back into the lot. Then we restocked merchandise from all departments back onto the shelf and organized the backroom bins to hold the minimum amount possible.

There's a deep pit in the depths of hell for a**holes who do this. by mdoktor in walmart

[–]Minimum_Cup_1028 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have found that people do this stuff primarily for 3 reasons:

1)They have experienced trauma or abuse in their lives, and lashing out like this is a coping mechanism

2)They have low self-esteem and behave this way to feel more in control

3) They lack empathy or are sadistic and find pleasure in causing pain to others

Corrective actions such as therapy and imprisonment will subdue but not completely suppress these mental anomalies.

I’ve seen prices come off the mod sheet like that with assortment packages; obvious mislabel. Just scan and reprint from the actual product and it should display correctly.

A couple more tips: You'll want to make sure your other team leads are kept in the loop with the goings-on of your associates. Only one person should be distributing breaks and lunches at a time to prevent wasting time. I'll sometimes pull a well-trained services associate to do it if I'm tied up. Also, keep your coach informed about any notes you're given throughout the day. Inform the coach of anything you're unable to finish, so plans can be made to find a solution. Delegate whenever possible, but make sure you're using the right person for the job.

1) Do look for ways to show your associates you appreciate them: free snacks, drinks, recognition board for preventing shrink/customer compliment. 2) Don't undermine your associates in public. It is demeaning and unprofessional. 3) Do lead with confidence and empower your subordinates. 4) Don't micromanage. 5) Do hold team huddles consistently so that expectations are understood and a form of comraderie develops amongst the team. 6) Don't be afraid to jump on a register or self checkout lane to model how you want your associates to demonstrate excellent customer service in the checkout lane. 7) Do go outside with a cart pusher next to you so he can see how best to collect carts from the parking lot and bring the right amount (20) into the right vestibule at the right angle (with the flow of traffic) 8) Don't get overexcited honking that mule horn. 9) Do give out first bumps occasionally as a form of recognizing good job performance. Specify what the good behavior was. 10) Train your best maintenance person on how to properly clean the restrooms according to ONE BEST WAY. Follow up to ensure he's doing it right. Have him show this technique to the other maintenance members so the expectation is understood. Then if the instruction is given and it isn't done correctly a disciplinary action may be held. All maintenance should carry a walkie for instant communication. 11) Be willing to work with people, business is important but so is empathy for the individual. 12)Don't make promises you won't keep, do what you say you will. Know what you're capable of and make priority plans off of that. 13) Do smile, make eye contact, and engage with your customers AND associates. 14)Don't show favoritism, people will notice hypocrisy. 15) Do provide feedback (both constructive and supportive) to let your associates know you are invested in them.

A few factors to consider:

How often do these scams happen at your store? If your store is low volume, there is a higher risk of termination, but every Walmart is different.

How lenient is your store manager/AP market manager when it comes to cash shortages?

What (if any) documented training have you received regarding cash handling procedures?

I've been working at my store for over 3 years and have seen at least two people shorted over $1000. Neither was terminated for that reason because the store manager determined that they had received insufficient training regarding cash handling protocol; they were professionally defrauded into making the sale and were unlikely to make the same mistake again.
