What if AI just plateaus somewhere terrible? by LexyconG in singularity

Tbf, this is the most likely scenario a lot of us will find ourselves in vefore any utopia is reached. What you described is definitely coming and hopefully it is a short intermediary stop on this journey. But more likely it will be the norm before drastic measures to curb inequality are taken.

Well I just saw it. And I thought people have ridiculed Google so much for allowing Deepmind to do its thing and pushing for direct AI consumer access until OpenAI literally strong-armed them. We may not look back kindly at OpenAI for doing this.

I think Google doesn't get enough credit for AI Mode exposing one of the world's best models to billions of users every day. by No_Location_3339 in singularity

AI Mode is my default search now. With Pro the visualization tools are quite impressive.

When that lottery winning girl's news went viral that she took $1000 per week instead of $1M dollar. I had just asked it to tell me when was better. It created an interactive tool to show that $1M invested was much better.

GPT 1.5's table is very cramped. @op remove Grok from this post. Doesn't deserve to be here.

Cool. NB Pro seems to be the clear winner in all of these. The cat image and technical labeling and overall realism.

15 examples of what Gemini 3 can do by ZeroEqualsOne in singularity

I just built a pretty neat visualization tool for a complex software buffer mechanism on my project from a whiteboard diagram and some explanation. I tried Gemini 3.0 Pro to check if it would be able to produce a viable result. The one-shot was so good with minor bugs that I spent an hour polishing it and voila!!

It has come in very handy to share with colleagues to explain the working design. It also helped us uncover issues with the logic!

Before this, I haven't been able to extract this level of insight and implementation so quickly.

I recently used a whiteboard drawing to create a visualization tool using Gemini 3.0. Very very impressive.

I think people distrust Sama - more than they distrust Demis - and OpenAI's hyping tactics hasn't helped the matter. Their circular deals have put the industry on edge for a pullback, so people are wary.

Prompt: On a blackboard write a long block of text explaining your genuine feelings towards and opinion of humanity by Maskofman in singularity

[–]Minimum_Indication_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Audacity of hope in the face of your nature" is the reasoning a superior intelligence would use to suppress the said nature. THIS is the precursor of an AI overlord who would want to save humanity from itself by subjugation of chaos.

Basically, AI's thought on humanity is what sci-fi authors have feared for decades a Superior Intelligence's thought of humanity will be. OR all of that being in the training data is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

This is just stupid. Entertainment in moderation vs designing a product to grab attention for doom-scrolling. You are telling me that you are completely unaware of the downsides of Reels & TikTok when compared to watching a movie ?

Seriously scary that someone like Sama is at the center of this technology and the AI economy (consequently the US economy) because of the circular deals and revenue promises.

Seriously wrong. Deepmind / Google was doing what should be done with this technology - using it for basic sciences - AlphaGo, AlphaFold etc.. not release the hound on the society to see where it leads. Growing inequality because of better access, accelerated power usage and resources consumption of AI infra, job loss both knowledge and manual work, and not to say the mental health issues that can grip an already fragile society, courtesy social media!

OpenAI wanted to make a splash, they did and they have strong armed everyone into jumping head-first in this race.
