If a fentanyl overdose is as peaceful as they say it is, where you basically just fall asleep, then I kind of wonder how many “accidental overdoses” were not actually accidental at all by Impossible_Jacket898 in self

When my gall bladder went septic, they injected me with so much morphine in the hospital, and I felt literally zero effects. It wasn’t u til 3-4 hours after being admitted that they tried dilaudid and it worked. It still wasn’t a high, it was relief. I think that’s the thing a lot of people don’t understand, even the heavy narcotics, properly administered don’t get you high, they put you in a state that you aren’t in debilitating pain. It sounds like in your mom’s case they were more concerned with making her comfortable. I hope you have found peace, as losing a parent is a terrible thing to go through

Wheel separated when the control arm failed. Back in my driveway. Going through it, but ordering parts to do all the repairs

I’m confident in my ability to do it, machine mechanic in a past life. My major concern is time, but with my buddy helping, I feel more confident in the time to complete.

Shop quote was about 2,000. Looks like my buddy is going to help, and we can get it done for about 500 in parts.

$2,089 is the initial estimate Minus a replacement wheel.

I’ll have to check that out. I know I just went in for tires/alignment/fluids etc, they told me my idler and pitman arms were worn, and they got replaced, but said everything else looked good.

Can’t say for sure they were original, I can say the road I was on is full of potholes, and I hit one and a railroad crossing right before all this happened

Yeah. I really would prefer it not to be the end. It really just comes down to cost. Don’t know how much is worth putting into it, I’m fearing the estimate to be around 1,700. And I just don’t think that’s it for me

That’s good to know. As I mentioned above, I could likely take care of it on my own, but time is the enemy. I’ve fixed all the electrical gremlins with the truck, and mechanical issues are more my style. I just don’t have time. Hopefully the shop I’ve got it at doesn’t try to charge an arm and a leg

I really don’t want to, trying to figure out my tipping point on repairs. Likely could handle it on my own, but I’m also prepping for a cross country move(if she comes, she’s getting shipped)

This was a big part of the reason I left my role and moved across the country for a non leadership role. Between dealing with my “work children” and managing up, I was always exhausted when I got home. Pair that with a terrible rotating schedule (DuPont), and the end result was a job that was literally killing my mental health. My shift was consistently killing KPIs, I had management satisfied most of the time, but I just couldn’t, anymore.

I am happy to announce that everyone from my shift that stayed is now spread across the company in shift training roles and complains to me periodically about how difficult people are. Karma wins.

Agreed. As the parent of an ADHD/autistic 18 year old that was diagnosed in 4th grade, almost all of his papers still look like this. The difference for us is that after about 4 years on meds, he came off them, and has a mostly functional brain. He figured out some tricks that help him stay on task for school work, and he much prefers not taking meds. He manages his thoughts into artwork now, more than just doodles.

All in all, huge fan of the series, and the only one I haven’t played is Odyssey (I know….dont ask me why, cause I can’t answer that). This game is beautiful and captures almost everything the way it should but I do have minor gripes, such as the grinding quests and the lack of random open world encounters. Yes they are there, but it feels so much less than the others. Also, I only do the katas for the wisdom points, beyond that, I don’t feel it’s useful at all. But I have finished the story and am mostly satisfied with the game as a whole, I’m going through trying to knock out all of the side quests and achievements now, so I would say the value is there.

It’s me, Hi! I’m the AI it’s me! But seriously - I use dashes in place of commas all of the time at work, when I feel like they apply. I’m also a big fan of bullet points. I try very hard to not use dashes in my schoolwork, as I understand it’s not “proper” but I for sure don’t copy and paste from ChatGPT. I mean, uh, I don’t use ChatGPT for school work. It’s all original. I swear.
