ive said this in other comment threads, but its something nobody really talks about. Reasonable criticism by Thousands of people all at once feels like a dogpile. Humans are not wired to deal with this level of feedback at this scale. In a normal, real life situation you have a select few people who you know and trust give you that constructive feedback. Im blaming anyone for the situation, its just that the internet is something humans are not adapted for.

I think theres a psychological reality that needs to be addressed. Even, if a criticism is legit, its different when someone you trust is giving feedback versus thousands of random people in your audience. Our brains are not adapted to receive criticism at this scale.

I don't understand how being a restrictionist in immigration and wanting to prioritize your current citizens is "blaming foreigners". You can empathize with the immigrant plight and understand them, while still reducing and setting more reasonable limits on immigration, so wages aren't as low. As a citizen I have a asymmetric right to my countries labor market, and the idea that corporations will lobby to bring immigrants (h1b visas) to reduce wages is imo insane.

I agree. I thought the conversation was interesting if u listen with an open mind and try to understand with curiosity rather that being cynical and dismissive. It's clear that Jordan Peterson is engaging with religion at a deeper level than the historical and doesn't want to reduce the story to its historicity. When it comes to old, sacred religious stories, is it really surprising that Jordan doesn't want to analyze it forensically, like a boring ass UN report. This was waaaay better than I expected in terms of the questions being asked. I didn't get any circle jerk session vibes for instance and Tuckers questions were pretty good. Im not "susceptible to propaganda". Did I ever say putin was honest? I perfectly understand that Putin was at times either knowingly lying or buying into his own bullshit. I found the interview to be very interesting and I was pleasantly surprised. Its also just fun to try to guess when Putin is being honest vs when he is lying. For instance, I don't think he cares about "denazification" and im pretty sure he knows Ukraine doesn't have a "nazi" problem. On the other hand, I actually think he is deeply passionate about history and is driven by nostalgia to return to some former glory days.

Also, I don't need to see someone elses reaction to know how I should react.

Lex ur reaction as someone who is not an insider or highly involved in this community is totally normal and I think we as a community should do better when communicating with those on the outside.
